Re: Disappeared and Suspected Murders 1970-Present?
Two Youngstown area murders/disappearances in the early 80's: Charlie Carabbia and hit-man Joe DeRose, Jr., non-made men but both aligned with the Cleveland mob.

Re: Actual made guys in Youngstown/Mahoning Valley
Great stuff.
Is it possible that the "Tony Dallassandro" listed in Stroccos' chart under both Trumbull and Mahoning counties actually be Tony "The Dope" DelSanter...? Or was this, circa 1951, a little before his time?

Is there a specific style of pizza typical of Youngstown? Or does it vary from joint to joint? Brier Hill pizza is a Youngstown specialty, taking it's name from the neighborhood overlooking an early important steel mill: The neighborhood was the birthplace of "Brier Hill pizza", a home-st...

Last time I had Sunrise pizza was about 5 years ago, and it was pretty good.
The Youngstown-Warren area has a bunch of great one-off pizza joints, I'd say my favorite's are Wedgewood Pizza (4 or 5 locations), and the Avalon Downtown. Plus plenty of others

1. Don't know if you can edit or change the thread title, but you'd get more views if you did, say to: Pittsburgh: Steel City Mafia Book. 2. Don't think it's available on Kindle or any other e-book format. I purchased the softcover printed edition from Amazon, and I believe that was my only option. ...

Holy shit, JCB, that's some super impressive and exhaustingly extensive research work. Do you have any idea of how many hours (or days, weeks, months, years...) all that you posted here today took you?
Much respect and appreciation.

Cleveland Mashie rockman Bill presser Jackie presser Babe Triscaro Validated by Tony Milano's FBI file which was recently posted by Antiliar , especially with regards to Triscaro. From that document, various informants, circa 1964 to 1968, claim Triscaro was "strategically placed" in his ...

Re: Angelo Lonardo Breaks Mafia in Ohio
Are you sure that the Carabbia's controlled the Warren area for Cleveland and not Tony Desanter? Yes I knew that Tony "The Dope" DelSanter was Cleveland's guy in Warren for many years, and I should have pointed that out. But after DelSanter's death in 1977 thru about 1985 when the article...

Re: Angelo Lonardo Breaks Mafia in Ohio
Good stuff as always JCB. Thanks. One glaring error in the long Pittsburgh Post-Gazette newspaper article in your first post referred to the Carabbia's as being from Warren; when in reality their homes and business were always in Struthers. They just controlled the Warren territory for their Clevela...

Re: Youngstown's Amil Dinsio Laguna Nigel Bank Heist of President Nixon
Phil Christopher , whom Amil now regrets including as part of his Laguna Nigel "team", also wrote a book a few years back called "Superthief" . It's a bit meandering and not nearly as good as "Inside the Vault" but does touch on that big California score. My bad, Cleve...

Re: Youngstown's Amil Dinsio Laguna Nigel Bank Heist of President Nixon
Just an FYI for other readers and posters, the linked article is from 2019. Dinsio's book, "Inside the Vault" is very good and I highly recommend it. There's also a handful of good YouTube clips about the burglary, just search "Amil Dinsio". Phil Christopher, whom Amil now regret...
