Disappeared and Suspected Murders 1970-Present?

Post by Adam »

So obviously the government digging up farms connected to the Gambinos and the presumption that they're looking for bodies....kind of gets me thinking about missing people that we think are mob murders but there's no body. I research Detroit and I have my list, but I've also had to remove people from it after finding out years later that they were alive. I can think of three specific people from Detroit in the 1960s that the FBI thought were dead and buried but came up alive later on. But I was thinking of possible murders from 1970 to the present that we're still looking for that may have been made to disappear by the mob. By family. So 1970s to present and I'm just throwing out names that come to the top of my head:

Detroit: I just have the one. Jimmy Hoffa. I've got a bunch from the 60s, 50s, 40s, 30s, but after Hoffa in 1975 I don't have one.

Philly: Michael Avicolli, Alvin Feldman....

New York(so many): John Favara, Tony Plate, the Demeo murders, Nicholas Cirillo, Robert Dibernardo, Louie Milito.....

Chicago(again so many):

New England?

Buffalo?

Cleveland?

Decavalcante?: D'Amato, LaRasso.....

For New England, they had dug up and found the remains of Steve DiSarro which they would use to pull Frank Salemme from witsec and sentence him to life for the murder as he hadn’t disclosed it when he had cooperated

Totally forgot about Zizzo. And that's relatively recent.

Two Youngstown area murders/disappearances in the early 80's: Charlie Carabbia and hit-man Joe DeRose, Jr., non-made men but both aligned with the Cleveland mob.

For New York you could go on all day. Billy Cutolo, Buddy Luongo, Vto Guzzo Sr, the 3 Bonanno Capos, Jimmy Angelino are just a few not mentioned names that popped up in my head.
