The IRA also used masks and gloves during their floats. No doubt DiPietro was on the to do list and they were probably already in the stalking phase but they probably weren't planning to kill him right then and there. They probably spotted DiPietro out in the open with no one around (so they thought) and said, "fuck it lets do it now". Of course I can be totally wrong and they really are that stupid.

That's how I see it too, Pogo. I think they spotted DiPietro on what they thought was an empty street and popped him. The Martorano hit, which Nicodemo is also linked too, was also pretty brazen. I don't doubt Nicodemo using his car for that hit, either.

Nicodemo was moved into a Pennsylvania State Prison closer to Philly....

Nicodemo's attorney probably just pushed for this so he could be closer to his family etc. Or they could have moved him to a shitter facility in to break him into cooperating . Who knows. But really its not unheard of for guys rotting in jail for decades to cooperate yrs later.

Probably regular routing transfer. My father in law has been in jail for 6 months. Got moved to a transfer station and took another 8 months just to get classified. Once you are classified(my father in law got classified as violent) it takes another month or 2 to transfer you there. That's just in my state, but I am sure it is similar, this is a State Case. Different from Federal Prisons.

Yeah and it was rumored to possibly be okayed by Merlino at his dads funeral when he came up to Philly I think?

I doubt the method was pre approved or discussed though probably just said ok yeah do it

I have a hard time believing anybody signed off on the hit considering the Ligambi trial at the time. Which makes me lean towards Philly not really being centralized at the time. It's more like crews are operating with their own leader and only network when there are disputes or territories overlap

I don't think the Philly family is even big enough for that scenario. They are the size of a NY Crew ...maybe a crew and half..lol There are not that many players in that family for the FBI to even keep tabs on. lol

I don't think the Philly family is even big enough for that scenario. They are the size of a NY Crew ...maybe a crew and half..lol There are not that many players in that family for the FBI to even keep tabs on. lol

Lot of guys been released lately. There are at least 50 members on the street right now. Problem is about half of them or more have held Admin or Capo positions.
