Anybody listen to this yet? Listened to the first 3 episodes so far. After consulting with an attorney they use aliases for all the Outfit members. So it makes it even harder to verify. The podcast is heavy handed and just okay, IMO. But they lay it on pretty thick that this Ken Tekiela was a hitter for The Outfit and he ran whorehouses.

They mention, IIRC, he started working in the early 80's for a made guy who was the son of Chicago's Chop Shop king. Who would that be? Whose son? Al Pilotto's? Jimmy Catura's? Later he goes on to say he then worked for another made guy who was a crew boss who was a well kept gangster. And who ran all the whorehouses for the outfit in the unincorporated parts of cook, dupage and kane counties.

Starting in episode 3 they are start to get into more of the day to day mafia/outfit stuff. The first 2 eps are more about the family and personal lives.
I am skeptical. I am not nearly as well -versed as others in Chicago but I tried to look up court cases on him. I found two, and both were him responding to an emergency as a paramedic in '89' and '91.' There has to be some documentation linking him to being associated with the Outfit. If he can't even produce it... I think he's lying, imo
In the 4th episode he says the only arrests on his record that someone will be able to find, and they'll have to dig, is an arrest in 1979 and 1980 both for keeping houses of prostitution.
Ok, but is there anything more tangible then that? Idk what does everyone think? Either he is like the steathiest hitman to ever be born in americs or he is bullshitting...And who is saying all this? The hitman himself or a family member? It's 2025, I need more then just your voice on a podcast!
Agreed. He is interviewed by his son on the podcast. In the most recent episode he says he killed a made guy on his own off the record. Described him as fat. Which seems a little hard to believe. The only actual name he has mentioned so far is Tony Spilotro. Why only use his real name? Because he's the most "well known" Chicago mobster to civilians outside Capone? I assume this guy was an associate of an associate and maybe killed someone but to describe themselves as a hitman seems a bit much IMO.
He killed a made guy off the record? Of course he did. "Off the record" fits his narrative of his hard to prove stories.
And those arrests for "prostitution" i wonder if it's for soliciting a prostitute. Did he display those records?
You feel like there has to be some truth to it if a credible podcast company is giving him a spot. But then again, nobody is really paying attention anymore...
Reminds me of that book Sleepers where the author used real events to try to make you think he was involved. Total bullshit.

Highly doubt the outfit was recruiting 17 year old drug addicts to be top hitmen. Too bad this podcast and to use the name crooked county. That would be a great name for an actual legit podcast about the outfit

Antilliar concluded that CG-8534 was Wemette, and I agree (I recently cited some of the intel relayed by this informant in 1979 concerning Spilotro and Schweihs).

The excerpt that "7Digits" posted above was from Schweihs's FBI file, and of course the identifying codes for the informants there (and names of the agents handling them) were redacted. There were two informants, denoted as CG-1 and CG-3, in the excerpt. One of them *could have been* Wemette, certainly. These informants were interviewed in 1973. The earliest that *I* can say with certainty that CG-8534 was informing was June of 1974, though that doesn't necessarily mean that he hadn't started earlier (I don't recall offhand if Wemette was more specific in his book about when he started actually giving intel to the FBI).

The irony is also that this guy was in fact out in DuPage County, but I guess that doesn't lend itself to the same puns (Du Payoff County??).
