Glad you guys like it. 8-)

I figured it would be on the Wayback Machine because it's a federal government site and therefore the opposite of obscure (generally the less obscure something is the more likely it gets stashed on the Wayback Machine, but it's usually a good idea to check it for any site that gets nuked but you want to see as I've found some super obscure sites from like 15~20 years ago on it too).

Edit to add that I'm surprised the PDF exhibits got archived as that sort of media usually doesn't (at least from what I've seen). Usually shows up as dead links within the Wayback Machine. Might want to download the really good stuff just to be safe.
Yeah, that's what I did. I'm too nervous about this Internet Archive lawsuit with publishing companies. It's about the online books that they used to have more of.

Oh shit I completely forgot about that lawsuit - the situation is a lot worse that I implied in my posts. Guys that link I posted might not be long for this world, better save the good stuff while you still can. It costs money to run a huge archive of dead sites like that and there's a good chance they're about lose hundreds of millions in copyright infringement penalties. Also might want to look up any old dead sites besides the one I posted while you still can.

Here's the story for anyone not familliar: https://www.wired.com/story/internet-ar ... se-appeal/

I just hope someone is making a Wayback Machine for the Wayback Machine.

What's worse is Google doesn't have "cached" websites anymore, either. That's not as big a deal because those didn't last forever, but it's just one more archival route for websites.

Coloboy wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2024 10:14 am In Scott's last article about Zizzo, he claims that Sarno was at one point a driver/bodyguard for Andriacchi. This is the first I've heard of this; however, I did see the photo of the two of them that was floating around a month or so ago when Andriacchi passed.

Anyone have more info on that relationship?
I've been told that Vince Dublino (who testified against Sarno) was the driver for Zizzo right up until he was killed. Does anyone know if that is accurate?
I’ve never heard that, but it would be very interesting if Dublino was tied to the Melrose Park crew. Would lend creedence to the fact that zizzos disappearance was directly related to the feud with Sarno.
I'm fairly certain that comes from Jim Cosenza if anyone follows his YouTube - he's gone to all of these trials.
The prosecution was not allowed to bring up the Outfit in that trial, so I doubt they'd mention another crew. Hay alluded to Sarno as the boss on the stand and it was immediately objected to and sustained. I doubt if Dublino testified to anything Outfit-related or was mentioned in any remaining context outside of his business being bombed.
How do these defense attorneys keep getting mentions of the outfit outlawed from court cases?

Does anyone know who the 'Tommy' is being referred to here as 'whacked out in a dice game' by Eboli on this call to Lombardo?

Just a heads up -- if you guys get a 503 or 504 error trying to access that archived site, just a wait a few hours and try again, or try again the next day.

Apparently the Wayback Machine is subject to frequent DDOS attacks by people who find that sort of thing amusing.

Hold up when Paul Carparelli says "good, that's what the kid wanted" at 0:40 in this clip is he referring to Gigi?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hk0YC_eEjA

I had assumed this was a reference to Mickey Davis, but I remember Gigi arranged for the beating that Brown is lying about here, and Gigi always calls himself "the kid" in his Facebook videos.

This wasn't the beating Davis contracted out, this a different one Carparelli was asked to arrange against a construction contractor. "The kid" (customer) refers to whoever Carparelli arranged the beating for, but I don't think they were ever identified.

Nope. I’ll be honest, this seems like another Boka manifestation. Either that or some deranged guy trying to troll whoever the guy is in the photos he’s posting.

The poster says that he was “told” by a Federal agent that this alleged “James Yantis” is really named “James DiVanti”. There’s no record for anyone of that name in IL. In fact, “DiVanti” isn’t even an Italian name (it reads like one of those fake Italian names for a mobster in a video game or something). No records for a guy using the name “James Yantis” from Chicagoland that would match the guy described by this poster either. The poster also says that he was told by investigators that “DiVanti” was tied to Tim Durham, the former CEO of National Lampoon. He basically claims that Durham was mobbed up. Durham was convicted in 2012 for running a huge Ponzi scheme and nothing that I have seen about it even suggested any ties to the mob.

And the guy is saying that he was involved in helping this “DiVanti” put money in the commissary for Jimmy Marcello, and further claims that “DiVanti” is the cousin of Vinny Basciano. The *only* thing that would give me pause on that last claim is that the Bascianos actually could have some connection to Chicago, though I’ve seen nothing indicating that they have relatives there (I know a couple of things about the Bascianos and I’d be very interested to know if they in fact have relatives in Chicago, but if they do I’ve seen no evidence of it). In 2016, when Vinny Basciano Jr appealed his conviction for marijuana trafficking (he had been convicted in 2014 along with his brothers Stephen and Joseph, along with Sal Larca and several other co-defendants), he was represented by a Chicago attorney, Paul Camerena.

Now, there isn’t exactly a lack of lawyers in NYC and you don’t typically see a New York guy hiring a Chicago lawyer. Not sure what the story was there, but it *could* point to something. The Basciano kids were connected to Sal Larca, and the Bronx Genovese guys did have a connection to Chicago via Dom Cirillo, at least. I do know personally of a couple of families in the East Bronx with relatives in Chicago and even a guy from Cicero living here (not saying that any of these people are mobbed up, as I don’t know that. Just that there are, from my anecdotal experience, some Italian families in the Bronx with relatives in Chicago. If I know of a couple myself, there are going to be some others as well, but it shouldn’t be terribly surprising that there are a few cases like this).

My only reaction to this story was "Guys in Supermax get commissary?".

They have a commissary at Florence ADMAX. How else is Marcello gonna get fruit snacks and Suave cocoa butter.

This has been circulating as purportedly Paul Carparelli's Pinterest page. I highly doubt that it's really his as this seems pretty over the top, but then again the guy did get an Omerta tattoo and a Capone decal for his motorcycle.
