Taking the necessary measures, which too many would consider "extreme," the government could virtually stop the drug trade. But people don't have the stomach for it so we get what we've always gotten. It's only a losing war because how we've always fought it.

non violent drug offenders shoulnt sit in ft dix for 13 years

LEgalize it all and it will eradicate most of the violent crime in this country, period

Yeah, 'cause that's worked just fine with alcohol and tobacco.
what's the alternative?
Continue fighting a losing war. It's what America does best. 🇺🇸

Yeah because that is exactly what has happened in every city and state that has effectively done it. Millions more mentally unstable and non-functional people in desperate need of money to feed their habit. Yeah I'm sure violent crime will just go away.

Alcohol and tobacco do more damage to society, in all its forms, than all the illegal drugs combined precisely because they're legal. But yeah, let's legalize heroin, cocaine, meth, fentanyl, etc

It's bad enough marijuana is being legalized. Because that's really what society needs, more potheads walking around.

Designate the Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations and use the US military to wipe them out. Would be money much better spent than unchecked billions going to Ukraine.

Domestically, while I'd be fine executing drug traffickers, putting them away for 50 years on their first offense would be good enough. Violent or not is irrelevant. They're all purveyors of poison.
All roads lead to New York.

Heard today from a friend involved in construction at a pretty big level that major construction case coming down next week, apparently bunch of the executives have been told to surrender and he thinks this likely connected to the long running Frank Camuso investigation. We’ll see whether this finally is the Camuso case.
About time they dropped this indictment. Thanks for the info.

I heard Chris Chierchio part of this case, but my buddy still thinks this is the Frank Camuso case. Maybe Genovese and gambino connection in the case.

if it alleviates all the gang murders, then I'm fine with it. What city has effectively done it? pot is benign and innocuous.
You seem to like making lists, so aggregate some stats. Most people in NYC don't smoke cigarettes (at least in TriBeCa)
Maybe we should go back to Prohibition?

Any idea when it’s dropping? I thought they would of given the guys tell early in the week to surrender and picked everyone else up the next day to prevent guys from running

Oregon decriminalized drugs in 2020. In 2021 drug overdose deaths rose by 41% and Portland set an all time record in their murder rate. That record was broken the following year with 2021 and 2022 now being the most violent years in the city's history. Enough said.
