The feds did more talking then the mob does these days.
We been waiting like patient on a monument for indictments for the Lucchesse family and Gambino family to be handed down for yrs. I mean they had a popcorn fart a few yrs with Campos and Martino but that was more bark then bite.
Sorry for the sopranos references.

I've sort of come to expect more of a lag between indictments now and for several reasons. One, the mob itself operating at a slower pace now. Two, less resources being devoted to it. Lastly, covid seems to have really gummed up the pipeline.

Why get quoted in the paper and give the ppl you want to put in jail time to coup a defense? The element of surprise

Rumor within construction industry that that Camuso indictment is coming soon. DA been sending grand jury subpoenas to testify to companies connected to the GC at the middle of it.

John Pennisi has said that he thinks that this recent indictment which hit the Lucchese Family will be the first of a wave of indictments for the family

Just guys in the mob aren't what they used to be same goes for 3 letter LE agencies. The FBI is still focused on the riots in the Whitehouse. There is daily uploads of peoples pictures on their site, presently. Politics have gotten in the way. Courts are turning down fbi search and seizure warrants because they are not done properly or leave it important facets of the case (See US private
vaults in Beverly hills case). It's no longer seeking out fhe best and brightest, it's trying to seek out being the most diverse. If your not hiring based on skills and talent then this is where your headed

If the FBI was being quoted in a nypost about indictments coming 20 years ago you bet your ass they would be 99% done. Now the FBI talks more then the mob does.

LE seems to be in a tough spot today . Multi agency million dollar investigations for gambling, weed, honest work services, osha violations, cialis dealers crimes might not cut it with today’s jurors

I’m interested in recent Westside / Luchesse gambling busts. NJ has walked away from gambling , weed busts but NY seems to still go after gambling ops of top crews. The only thing I can think is a war of attrition, tie up quality captains and maybe they are replaced with lesser quality guys. If there is no jail time for recent NY busts, where do they go from there ?

Even though less resources are being devoted to it, they are still making huge arrests such as the Colombo bust in 2021, the east cost LCN indictment. The Lucchese Family have had 6 Acting Bosses since 1991, 2 of them flipped and 3 are serving life and now here is DeSantis.

Busts today are almost completely reliant on informants/turncoats.
80's/90's/00's you had alot of tapped phones, bugs, surveillance, etc. It seems LE today build cases primarily on turncoats.

Sure you can claim Gravano, but LE had Gotti on tape above his social. And they flipped Gravano by Gottis own words.

You can claim Vitale but the Bonnano bust started with LE forensic accounting on some Jew who had car parks owned by Canterella.

Today it seems, every case is predicated purely and singularly on getting someone to roll.

That’s a good point but not all indictments are based of people flipping such as the 2013 garbage bust and when Anthony Grado got caught threatening that doctor. The Bugs are still quite effective and at the end of the day, the FBI is still achieving results.

How can they justify allocating millions to these innocuous, benign "crimes"?.
should use that money for opiate epidemic!
IF they're selling oxy's, coke, shaking down clean nabe stores then okay, but for gambling, weed, viagra its a waste considering all the shit coming in through the border- although the war on drugs is futile. its best to just legalize and regulate everything.
Q: What doesn't work when it's fixed?
A: A jury!
