If I had to guess I would guess St Johns, Seton Hall , Monmouth , Saint Peters, or Iona. Lots of players from the city on those squads typically.

This is what I was thinking as well. No one bets on low major teams like Wagner. And the mob doesn't have the juice that Nike and other college BB influencers have.

I think the whole indictment was BS, but the college basketball thing especially. College players make no money, at least on paper. Rick Pitino was banned for paying players under the table (now at Iona, btw). But the idea that a washed up crime family is going to impress a bunch of 20 year old joggers enough to coerce them to carry a point spread is simply not believable. Not these days.

If it actually happened it would have to have been atleast a mid major school. And a "gangster"
who also talked his girlfriend via cell phone on a city bus doesn't strike me as the sort of person who can bribe the starting point guard at St. John's.

I kinda figured that was due to this Scorcia guy's inaptitude. I mean, it's not like the rest of the family is gonna do your work for you. So they might've let him dangle for a while. Especially in a cut throat environment where you have to proof yourself constantly. Even more so as an associate.
