nobody wanted to take orders from basciano ??
Basciano had clout
I remember reading that nobody wanted to take orders from bascinano since the rat massino promoted him to acting boss.

I think you’re right Slim, but not specifically because Massimo promoted him. I think it’s also because Basciano was a lot younger than the other guys and rose the ranks incredibly quickly. Then, he was shipped over to a Supermax, where his opinion or say didn’t mean shit, and had no real backing on the street after Michael Mancuso took over and Dom Cicale flipped. That’s my take.
I don't know dick about dick.

The Bonanno Family was originally mostly from Castellammare del Golfo. If I remember correctly Joe Valachi said that he was made into that faction during the Castellammare War. I think he said that they were taking just about everybody. Now a days I don't think that the Bonanno' s are any more Sicilian then the other family's.

Didn't Basciano promote Michael Mancuso to acting boss?

Basciano wanted a ruling panel with Mancuso on it, but Mancuso took the family for himself.

Did the same apply to Montagna who was even younger than Basciano when he ascended to the throne?

I doubt mancuso just stepped down as #1 after he was arrested in 2006 and i dont think Montagna ran the family on the streets on Mancuso’s behalf. The Bonnano’s likely didn’t have an official boss from 2005-2009.

Oh. My bad. Honestly, I never really knew much about Montagna but I know the media hyped him up as the next John Gotti.

I think by the time Montagna was in charge, the family was in so much disarray that they needed anybody willing to take the throne. Back when Basciano was in charge, there was still competition for the acting boss title which is why Mancuso squabbled with Cicale.

Within the Bonanno’s Johnny Joe is that guy. It should be interesting to see what transpires.

Johnny Joe is from the bronx crew he definetely doesnt play games hes a legit tough guy my cousin did a little time on part of his Fed bid w him and said hes respected by everyone to say the least and like Nepa stated regardless of Rank Johnny Joe holds sway in thay family i think probably even more if Mikey is running things they both came up in the bronx im pretty sure they were both very close to Patsy Defillipo could be wrong though
..some guys regatdless of rank are very powerful especially within there own families theres some very powerful soldiers who probably get more respect then some captains hell theres very powerful Associates....as far as Johnny Joes son hes a junkie or at least when the feds ran down on him he was caught getting high in the parking lot in a car w some other addicts supposedly hes shelved but with mancuso running shit now and his dad coming home he may very well come off that shelf if true
