Yea what an awful father u would think he’d want his son nowhere near the life after all those years in prisonBklyn21 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 7:45 pmFrom the looks of it, Sounds like Sr. Wanted Jr. All in and had him giving directives and was happy to have his son handling business and grooming himslimshady_007 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 12:35 pmPlenty of Italian Americans grow up with a lack of guidance and are attracted to the fast lifestyle of the mafia. The Amato kid spent his entire adolescence without a father at home and that probably had a lot to do with him going down the wrong path. Plus his dad bein in the mafia didn’t help.StandUpGuy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 11:35 amAll true.. but the recruitment pool in greater NYC and New Jersey its still quite significant and enough for keeping this ”thing” going for another couple of decades. There are still tons of young italian americans around the families as associates. In the NYC area.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 11:31 amIn general, the depletion of the recruiting pool on a national basis is absolutely true. But the New York metro area has always had the biggest pool to select from and obviously still does today. That doesn't mean it hasn't declined though, in both quantity and quality.StandUpGuy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 11:25 am Once again all the post about how young italian american dont want the life anymore, all are doctors, lawyers etc. There are no recruitment pools anymore are quit frankly total crap.. just look at the associate lists and their ages.
Its the same in maybe all the latest indictments across all families, you got tons of young italian americans as associates..
Wise men listen and laugh, while fools talk.

Gravano said the godfather part one is what motivated him to join the mob
Re: More than a dozen locked up on gambling and extortion charges in staten island
A lot of young punks in there but everyone’s got to start somewhere I guess. Some older guys guiding them tho. It’s a blue collar gavone crew but I’d still consider them wiseguys, even tho the younger ones r wannabes.NinoFromNYC2 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2019 8:11 am To me it seems like a bunch of young immature 20 year olds imitating there favorite movie or book they read trying to live it out in real life.

Well, if he based it off a movie, then it makes sense why he became a rat. His fantasy life came crashing down because the big guy yapped about him behind his back. And how does anyone know if that's really true anyway other than him saying it? More bullshit from him for being an asshole.

Yeah he said in the Diane Sawyer interview that he and the people he was around felt like Godfather was the greatest representation of “the life”. He was borderline emotional talking about how much he loved that film.
Re: More than a dozen locked up on gambling and extortion charges in staten island
Plenty of young blood on the island...just not as high quality as the past....half being pill heads...no good
Re: More than a dozen locked up on gambling and extortion charges in staten island
so well put
these guys are so dumb- those are the guys in the street these days
And the fed agents are largely from fourth tier law schools, too stupid to go out and make money. But they have billions and still have to play dirty
Q: What doesn't work when it's fixed?
A: A jury!

1 out of every 10 of these upcoming gangsters will be actual wiseguys
