StandUpGuy wrote: Thu Oct 03, 2019 11:25 am Once again all the post about how young italian american dont want the life anymore, all are doctors, lawyers etc. There are no recruitment pools anymore are quit frankly total crap.. just look at the associate lists and their ages.
Its the same in maybe all the latest indictments across all families, you got tons of young italian americans as associates..
In general, the depletion of the recruiting pool on a national basis is absolutely true. But the New York metro area has always had the biggest pool to select from and obviously still does today. That doesn't mean it hasn't declined though, in both quantity and quality.
All true.. but the recruitment pool in greater NYC and New Jersey its still quite significant and enough for keeping this ”thing” going for another couple of decades. There are still tons of young italian americans around the families as associates. In the NYC area.
Plenty of Italian Americans grow up with a lack of guidance and are attracted to the fast lifestyle of the mafia. The Amato kid spent his entire adolescence without a father at home and that probably had a lot to do with him going down the wrong path. Plus his dad bein in the mafia didn’t help.
From the looks of it, Sounds like Sr. Wanted Jr. All in and had him giving directives and was happy to have his son handling business and grooming him

I read the indictment. regular shit. honestly nothing crazy. a failed point shaving attempt, card games, loans, conspiracy to sell pot, and they beat the shit out of someone who we already know was that Bonnano rat (a LCN associate himself).

its crazy how hard the feds can come at you when these types of crimes are compounded and attached to organized crime / RICO. I wonder how much time an individual or a couple individuals with no priors would get for running a card game or selling pot, if they weren't reputedly connected to a LCN family? if they were even caught to begin with, it probably wouldnt be much, if any at all. just doing seemingly light crimes in furtherance of a organized crime family adds a thousand extra degrees of heat

at least some of these kids are young enough to turn it around. Amato’s son is someone we’ll probably see and hear about again down the road though. maybe in 10 years we’ll be on here talking about the Amato Junior crew

That’s what’s most concerning. Bum. To be fair, the kid had John Cerbone as a reputed father figure growing up.
I don't know dick about dick.

This goes to show what a laughing stock The Mafia is in 2019. A so called Made Member Of The Mob getting caught with a Mafia history Book in the trunk of his car. On top of that these 20 year olds trying to make a name for themselves with no experience and brains in there head obsessed with Movies like Goodfellas and the Bronx Tale lol. Is this a Mafia or the circus cause it don’t seem like these are a bunch of bright individuals

Reminds me of a sicilian mafia member who was busted a few years back. They caught him on the run while he was watching The Godfather II and polishing his golden Colt .45.

this is not a new thing, even in italy police nabbed mafia members with mafia books at home, in the past they watched the godfather movie or read mario puzo's book
