I haven't seen the FBI specifically stating anything about Detroit. They just kind of vanished (like Hoffa!).

Correct me if you have any solid information to the contrary, but because of the tremendous lack of cases cited by Wiseguy, it seems that Detroit is really no different than St. Louis or Kansas City, where there are some "left over" made guys who either are retired or a few of them might be doing something on their own. That doesn't constitute an operating "Family" with a hierarchy. Plus, as a couple posters pointed out, The Feds seem to not even recognize them. No?

From what I can tell the D'Annas really are serious active gangsters, but the rest of the family seems to be a bunch of retired or semi-retired old millionaires who might have some gambling going on. If there is a "structure" it's as a fraternal organization for old rich guys who were mobsters 40 years ago.
