Louis Filipelli’s uncle was Arnold “Zeke” Squitieri, these guys all used to hang at The Pleasant Cafe on Pleasant Ave and East 118th Street back in early 2000s. Louis has a brother Anthony.

If still involved, I’d think Zeke’s son, Arnold “Bo” Squitieri Jr is part of Filipelli crew.

The Filipellis/Squitieris/Siscas all connected/related.

Alphonse Sisca, Jr. Ran an ambulette company located at 1174 Commerce Ave. in the Bronx.

Ed Sisca (funzy Sisca son) involved in construction. Owned a couple companies back in late 90s, FPC Contracting and Technical Construction, with Louis Filiepelli being involved with Technical Construction. In 1999, Ed Sisca and the companies were charged and convicted in a couple New York State racketeering cases for stealing money from city and bid rigging. Ed had a Kerik connection which is interesting: https://nypost.com/2004/12/16/kerik-mob ... ontractor/

Chris Sucarato (son of old time east Harlem bookmaker/gambler Nick Sucarato). Wouldn’t surprise me if he got made at some point.
Dominick Como, used to drive Funzi Sisca.
Michael Widing, used to run gambling at Pleasant Cafe, was very close to Filipelli.
Angelo “Skippy” Amen, close to Filipelli. Used to run Amen Construction, now runs big non union carpentry co. Did a long prison stretch for heroin trafficking.
Daniel Abbate, owned building at 1174 Commerce Ave, the Bronx, which had offices for both the Sisca ambueltte company as well as Angelo Amen’s construction co.
Frank Mahoney, involved in drugs/gambling, was close to Filipelli
Crew would frequent a social club at 3194 Westchester Ave, the Bronx, not far from Balsamo Funeral Home.

Some of this is dated but wonder if any of these guys still around.
Good word regardless! - still the same crew? or have any been shifted away

John Gambino was considered to be the most influent Gambino family member until his death.
Most powerful groups: Camuso's crew, Filipelli's crew, Corozzo's crew, Marino's crew.
Gene Gotti is likely asking for a position and most of all, money.

Source is 100% valid. Can't add more about it.
Figured we maybe revisit this post.

Peoples thoughts on what current situation is?

Camuso crew and Filipelli crew definitely seem to be very strong. Both have big money guys, heavily involved in construction.

Do we think Marino crew is still active? Marino crew historically had guys like Johnny G and Big Billy Scotto, any other members we can identify as being part of this regime?

Lanni crew comes from the 18th Avenue Mannino crew, I’d think? This crew has a lot of juice. Wouldn’t be surprised if Lanni is part of admin at some point.
Yeah, I think the Marino crew is still active. I think Marino and Lombardozzi are the same crew.
Didnt they "merge" back after the kiddie porn kinda lost him some respect?
I must've missed this case?
Marino crew got busted in 2010 Young guys in his crew were pimping out a 15 year old gir, Thomas Orefice was recently made at the time in his early 30s think he got about 10 years,, others involved were Dominick DiFiore was proposed to be made , wonder if he got straightened out, not exactly a good look

Damn that's a hell of a story. Does anyone know if the Scotto kid is related to Billy?

Also mentioned a couple guys going away for 15 years for the Frank Hydell murder. One of them is Thomas Dono who got out 2 years ago and is currently 49. This article says "Around 2001, Dono was proposed for induction as a "made" member of the Gambino family as a reward for murdering Hydell, the indictment further states."

https://www.silive.com/news/2008/06/3_c ... sland.html

Does anyone know if Dono ended up getting straightened out? If he wasn't he's probably one to keep an eye on being made over the next few years.
If I remember correctly somebody on the boards said it was Billy Scotto’s nephew

Stick with Capeci, that's usually a solid strategy. But whether they made anyone in that crew or not, there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity. And by that I mean virtually none. The article by Capeci revealed family members of DeVita and the two other known guys in the crew have ILA jobs. OK. But when there's been nary a peep since the mid-1990s otherwise, one starts to wonder. At least I do.

I'll go even further than that. I said recently I'm pretty much of the position the DePiro (formerly Fiumara/Coppola) crew is the only Genovese crew based in New Jersey at this point. And if you look at the cases over, say, the last 15 years, they bear that out.
JeremyTheJew wrote: Sat Jun 24, 2023 11:56 amDidnt they "merge" back after the kiddie porn kinda lost him some respect?
I question whether they ever really split and there being two crews. And the Marino case didn't involve kiddie porn. Among the rackets they were running an escort service. One of the girls was underage, 15 if I remember right.

felice wrote: Fri Apr 06, 2018 2:49 am About Palmeri, I tried to get documents of that investigation but I have not been able since it was an operation coming from authorities I have not any contact with. From what I could understand talking to someone who was part of the investigation Palmeri was considered an underboss of the sicilians in NY, underboss meant like a powerful guy who answered directly to bosses. Underboss term was not specifically linked to his official rank. Anyway the sicilians sometimes use to have sotto-capodecina, the man second in power of a crew after the capodecina. His name was totally new for me. Never heard him before of that investigation
Tangential to the main conversation here, which I'm not trying to derail. But do you have any specific references to Sicilian pentitti discussing "sotti-capidecina"? We have reason to believe that Chicago used crew "underbosses" under the captains and referred to this role as "sotto capo", so I'd like to see what the sources are for its use in Sicily.

Lets not get side tracked on what WG thinks is valid and not
U guys can jus go back on any previous post where same questions were asked

Anyways....
So what about this Campos claim??? I hear hes got huge crew of ppl that "put in work"

Did anything on Camuso ever actually happen?? That one russian inducement named him.... But didnt do anything to him. Did i miss anything with him???

Seems like the Sicilian POSSIBLY have lost some weight since john gambino and frank cali are gone with cali being getting old iv seen it said .. (doesnt he still live with his mom too? But fr...)

Mannino is being said to be street boss i think...

other powerfull crews/members??

I am aware.
So maybe explain
While what Capeci reports does hold a lot of weight with me, it isn't necessarily the final word if there is other information to consider.

For example, in 2019 and 2020 he identified Alphonse Malangone as a captain. There hasn't been a case involving that crew in over 20 years and there are only a few known members of that crew still living. The same could be said about Thomas Ficarotta, who Capeci identified as a captain in 2015. There hasn't been a case involving that crew since the 1990s and only a couple known crew members living. Same for Silvio DeVita, who Capeci identified as a captain in 2020. DeVita is in his 90s now, there are only a few known crew members still living, and the last case I'm aware of was in the 1990s. For the same reasons, I really wonder about the Santorelli crew in the Lucchese family. I also have to wonder about the DeSimone crew in the Bonanno family. I'm also not sold on Anthony Fasitta, Alphonse DiPilato, Cologero Davi, Paul LoDuca, Joseph Lubrano, Vincent Beltempo, Salvatore Franco, Louis DeVito, and Thomas Farese even being captains at this point.

Capeci identified John Barbato as a captain in 2018 and 2019, and maybe it was true at the time, but as I said Barbato is pushing 90 and I suspect John LaRocca took over that crew. Which, unlike the others mentioned above, has had ongoing cases.

I've long suspected there was more overlap amongst people listed as captains than some might think. I look at crew histories, who is indicted with who, the amount of indictments over the years, the size of the family overall, and so on. Not only do I think Daniel Marino and George Lombardozzi are the same crew, I also think the same applies to Salvatore Gigante and Nicholas Calisi, Barry Nichilo and Anthony Palumbo, Domenico Cefalu and Domenico Acquista, John Rizzo and Ernest Grillo, John Spirito Sr and Ernest Aiello, Vincent Riccardo, and Dennis DeLucia, and Teddy Persico and Carmine Persico. I personally think the days of any of the New York families having 15-20+ crews are gone.
