The mob was (and is) involved down the line more at the mid-level but when you've got guys affiliated with the Cali cartel setting up shop in NYC, it's difficult not to be marginalized. LCN never had the same level of control over the supply of cocaine that it did heroin.

Even today, after marijuana and prescription drugs, cocaine is the drug you see the most mob cases with. But it's in smaller volume compared to those other ones.
