Re: Fast risers
Not sure if this is really in line with the spirit of the thread because he "only" had reached the position of captain as opposed to an admin spot, but I feel like Massino is an example of a guy who moved up real quick. Made in late 1977 and by mid to late 1981 he was pretty much the main power on the street wasn't he? I guess that's what can happen when you have a powerful mentor who trusts you.

Michael and Sonny Franzese. Michael was fast cause his father was underboss but still an earner nonetheless.

Re: Fast risers
The Giacalone rank is "street boss". A slight distinction. The theory is that the top mob bosses in Detroit at the time, Joe Zerilli, Bill Tocco, Angelo Meli, John Priziola and Pete Licavoli used a "street boss" to handle day to day things while they kept away from that. That's its something Detroit has always used. That's the theory. Not sure I go along with the idea(I personally don't think Detroit had quite the strict hierarchy of other families, literally more of a "partnership"), but it gets referenced a lot.JeremyTheJew wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 12:07 pm No one said our favorite! Re: Fast risers
Well, technically I've lived in East Lansing for most of the last 23 years. But personally, and I don't want this to turn into another long drawn out Detroit discussion, I'm kind of leaning towards there's some kind of organization if only for tradition's sake and so guys like Lapiana can sit back on their millions and probably not have to be involved in much of anything but can still say that he's the underboss. While a bunch of low level guys do low level things like bookmaking, card games, drugs, scams.....stuff like that. And ostensibly they have to do what the "bosses" say if there's some kind of problem. Just how I'm leaning at this point as to their status.JeremyTheJew wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 6:22 pmAdam, you live in Detroit just like me.Adam wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 6:19 pmThe Giacalone rank is "street boss". Re: Fast risers
Frank Paparatto was an Associate in October 2000 and in 2001 rose to Street Boss.
Frank D'Amato was an Associate in October 2000, was soon made and promoted to Capo and by April 2001 had risen to Acting Consigliere.
As we can see the DeCavalcante family was left decimated by the 1999 and 2000 indictments.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Lupara is that for real or is that a joke about Luciano being present through a ouija board. I never heard anything like that before where did that come from?Lupara wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 11:00 amNatale was made in the mid 1970s by Carlo Gambino, Angelo Bruno and Lucky Luciano (who was present through an ouija bord). Re: RE: Re: Fast risers
I’ll also assume this is a joke because I believe he even testified Joey made him and he made a comment you could make yourself if you have the balls. Later on he said he was made by Bruno much earlierLupara wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 11:00 amNatale was made in the mid 1970s by Carlo Gambino, Angelo Bruno and Lucky Luciano (who was present through an ouija bord). James Tartaglione was made a captain a year after his induction in the mid 80s.
Re: RE: Re: Fast risers
He did claim that he was made by Angelo Bruno and Carlo Gambino at a secret ceremony in the 1970s. The rest of the comment is a joke.Extortion wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 5:24 pmI know this is trolling but did natale really claim this BSLupara wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 11:00 amNatale was made in the mid 1970s by Carlo Gambino, Angelo Bruno and Lucky Luciano (who was present through an ouija bord).
