My guess is the stash house was run by a bunch of nobodies, who would not have the weight to retaliate.
Still even if the stash house was run by a low level street gang its still a big risk. Gangs in Chicago r nuts.

Wasn't the house set up to look like a cartel stash house? If it was a cartel stash house, how would LE wire the place?

Yup, the article says his crew did 5 or 6 major rips a year. I’ve pasted a link to an article from 2014 about the sting operation and it says the crew was looking to grab 44 keys. While it was a set up by the cops, this crew definitely had balls to rip off some major players as that’s big weight. You basically have to assume if you are ever caught by the guys who you robbed, you’d get you head handed to you.

I agree robbing stash houses anywhere is a huge risk and takes balls especially in Chicago the gangs are out of control there not to mention it is if not the biggest then one of the biggest spots inside the U.S. for cartel activity theyve had pipelines in and out of chicago forever now robbing stash houses is like playing with your life out there ....to be fair they were good at what rhey did both pannozo and koroluk got 18 i also agree that hes got little to no chance of getting parole , where im from with a rap sheet thats got the violence he has on it and his police reports which parole also looks at gotta be horrible hes a dangerous guy hands down not someone to play games with definetely about his business the article said they were hitting mansions and were bypassing alarms and cutting phone lines also with the stash houses they were putting gps trackers on everybody they were looking to robs vehicles so they knew where they were at all times, they knew what they were doing i know hes been locked up now for a little bit but to have 18 and have the chance to go see parole in 4 and a half is insane that means he will most likely have few more chances after getting denied on the first you never know the one thing i just remembered feom the article is they said it was a state racketeering charge i believe but then that he also had a federal charge and one would be ran concurrent with the other and didn't it say hed be serving the sentence in the Feds once he copped out to that charge and it was ran concurrent ?? If so, how is he going to be up for parole in 4 and a half if hes in the feds and not state ?? Maybe i misread the article after all i read it a couple hours ago if so then my bad i just dont see how a state parole law would be on effect if indeed he did serve his time in the feds if anything hed have to serve it in the state of illinois prison system ,im going to re read the article but if anyone knows the amswer as to where he will serve the time after he cops out to the fed charge assuming its ran concurrent like article said

Technically, he will be up for parole after 9 years because he's already been in prison for 4.5 (time served).

However, once he gets sentenced for the federal crimes he will still serve it concurrently but because it is federal time, he won't get credit for time served.

I'm not really sure how jurisdiction works when one is serving state and federal time concurrently but I believe whichever jurisdiction sentences them first retains them. If he finishes his state sentence and still has federal time to serve he will move to a federal facility.

The Chicago gangs and the their Mexican cartel connections
would keep me from ripping them off.

I feel so much better now that some BHF Posters have declared the Chicago Outfit "Completely Dead", "Inactive", "Everyone is Dead or Retired", etc. ;)

Obviously a little sarcasm was in order...

To be fair, they have seemed pretty dormant for several years. Obviously, the Panozzo thing is an outlier but it's been 4 and a half years since he was indicted.

It will be interesting to see what comes out of the Matassa case (if he doesn't plead out) as the indictment never mentioned the Outfit, although it wouldn't have been the first time an Outfit guy was prosecuted without specifically tying them to the organization.

I'll be interested to see if Sallett is able to bring anything down on them in the coming years.

It would be interesting to see how the Feds found out about Matassa's scheme since the Social Security office already had approved it and he was receiving benefits. Somebody informed on him but I didn't read if they had any witnesses. Looks like Sallett has the hammer in one hand and the nails in the other. The fact that Matassa had to resort to committing Social Security Fraud which involved several big Felonies in order to collect a relatively small amount of money each month (early retirement) from the Government shows how pathetic these leftover Outfit guys really are today in my opinion.

Discussion groups comprised of Chicago people talk about Outfit activities all the time. No one thinks they are dead.
Forgetting that, I get a kick out of drug ripoffs and invasions. I see nothing really wrong with it. I'd let it go.

They must be much more than dead or on their last legs if Sallett wants to make them a priority to go after.

Sallett has said himself that "The New York families are still a problem but in most of the rest of the country the LCN is not a priority for law enforcement."

Of course, that doesn't mean they still won't bring a case if there's one to be made.
All roads lead to New York.

The Outfit is not something for criminals to aspire to now. It's not considered an advancement. That's shown by the fact that, unlike the case in NYC, there are multiple long standing white street gangs of substantial size in Chicago, but they are not a feeder pool to the Outfit.

Are you referring to MC's, i.e., Outlaws, etc.?
