He would have at the very least been paying tribute to the luchesses or bonnanos if he was still having some action on the street such as gambling. If another LCN family or gang such as the Albanians attempted to shake him down it would have triggered a sit down or someone getting clipped but its 2018 I don't know how much muscle they still have.

I’m not sure if you understand the logic of your thesis.

If he ‘had to have been’ paying tribute to an LCN family then the conclusion is they are unable to protect or defend a member.

This is basically at odds of our current understanding of the power of the families vs the power of the Albanians. That they could repeatedly threaten and then kill an associate of a family against its wishes goes against current wisdom.

I love it how they still can’t work out which family he’s meant to be affiliated with. The daily a few hours ago had him as a Bonanno assoc. Now he’s a Luke.

Agreed, also Vknicks is right in that it doesn't even appear LCN related.
I'd rather Capeci gives us an inside scoop on something not-so-interesting than rehash a Daily News article on something like the Zottola hit. All this means is that Capeci's sources don't have anything to say on the matter for whatever reason. Disappointing, but that's the way it is.
