I was always amazed DeNaples got a license to begin with.

They had local judges and politicians in Harrisburg on board.
One of the few things Birkbeck's book provided was a pretty
good overview of the Mt. Airy Casino episode.

Birbeck's book barely touched on Bufalino, it was all about Mount Airy and D'Elia. Plus, he named Sonny Ciancutti boss of Pittsburgh in his book.

It was a HUGE disappointment! Seemed like all he used was WIKI and newspaper articles. I hope one of the respected OC authors will go to the valley, do research and write a proper book about him.

I don't know much about Billy Delia other then he was involved with guys from NY in the waste hauling/carting biz. But that was waaaaay back in the early 80s. I don't think his ratting out really effected anyone. By the time he went down....who was left as far as made members in that family? just him no? If Philly had something going with him 15yrs ago...they were probably walking all over him as has no juice..no family. Kinda like the Gambinos walking all over Tampa...

The entire valley is economically depressed.
No more coal mines, only slag heaps. No more
dress factories- moved to Asia. Corrupt judges- busted.
Policy racket gone. Game over.

It’s been like that since the 1980’s. D’Elia had powerful contacts...”Friends” and he more the less free lanced with NY, Philly, Pittsburgh & Cleveland. He was a favorite of Kelly Mannarino bc Billy was thought of as a son by Bufalino. Bufalino and Kelly were extremely close friends...not just business partners.

I have NEVER seen this video footage before! I thought others might want to see it.
I came across it by accident. The ONLY video footage I have ever seen of Mr. McGhee.
