LCN in America is pretty much at the bottom of the drug food chain. Needless to say, that was not always the case.

Joey merlino taxed street dealers while he was boss and anthony DiDonato taxed dealers on nicky corrozozs behalf.
Again that is a myth. The mob has always directly dealt drugs. Just a few weeks ago 2 Philly made members were busted for dealing drugs.

It started in 2015. Capeci wrote that Cali was the new acting boss. Then a few weeks later Capeci said a more reliable source told him that Cefalu is still acting boss. I believe he stated more recently that Cefalu was still acting boss. So alot of people have thought Cali has been acting boss since August of 2015, with Cefalu retired. But that is wrong according to Capeci, who says Cefalu has been acting boss since 2011.
Re: Role of a Soldier Today
Also the panel was reported by Capeci in 2012. It was John Gambino, Juliano and Guirino. It was s street panel, that was below the administration. Serving as an added layer of protection between the Captains and the administration.

Re: Role of a Soldier Today
Just so I understand correctly.... John Gambino WASNT CAPO of 18th ave crew? And neither Cali, Mannino, nor Cefalu were under John.
Just understand.. we had Conte, Cheech Gambino, AND John Gambino, ALL described as being "boss" of the Sicilian faction. AT THE SAME TIME ROUGHLY. With John being the highest ranking guy, it's why I said all these guys came from him.
I've read felices post, Cefalus family goes back just like all these guys. I've seen LoPiccolos name on docs from the 50s. This click isn't a new thing...
@slimshady
I dont know who built em up to be huge? Why would they NEED to be huge. The same type of myth surrounded Galante, with his army of ghost sicilians hitters. Most of the clans in Sicily aren't huge. The Coleonesi at thier core might have been like what 40 guys?
Like even Contes crew... this wasnt a drug crew? ( I thought Gotti even ordered him to reactivate the pipeline.. that could be wrong though. Just checking my facts here... help me out guys, lol

@ pogo
I actually know they were technically in different crews, but I identify them by this " family-click" association. They have kept it tight for about 50-60years it seems.

Re: Role of a Soldier Today
Just to be thorough, here is where I read all this.. and I posted an excerpt where it describes him as boss of Sicilian faction.
https://www.tni.org/en/paper/rothschilds-mafia-aruba
Salvatore 'Cicchiteddu' Greco, the former head of the overall Commission of the Sicilian Cosa Nostra, and one of the pioneers in the international heroin trade (50);
* Nick Rizzuto, a lieutenant in the Montreal-based Cotroni Family, but highly independent and in fact subordinate to the Sicilian Mafia (i.e. Cuntrera-Caruana);
* Antonio Napoli, a high-ranking made member of the New York Gambino Family and 'the biggest mover of junk to the United States' (51);
* John Gambino, a relative of Carlo Gambino and boss of the Sicilian faction of the New York Gambino Family (52);
* Brothers Angelo and Francesco Mongiovì, figure-heads of the Cuntreras in Caracas and Italy's financial centre Milan. According to a DEA report, Angelo's son Nino Mongiovì married Paolo Cuntrera's daughter and was the 'super manager for drugs of all kinds passing through Miami'. (53)
