No doubt the feds possess most of the info about the mob but if that mostly comes from informants, as stated here, what does that say about the accuracy of that body of information, given the self-service nature of its origin? Also, if the feds say something that we think is clearly inaccurate because of other info we got from the same party, where does that leave us? Also, how do we know that an inaccurate statement was made mistakenly?
Re: Article mentioning Tony Parkside
The FBI is actually well known for vetting it's info very well, especially compared to state law enforcement. For example, to consider someone made, the FBI requires that they be independently identified as such by two other members.UTC wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 9:02 pm No doubt the feds possess most of the info about the mob but if that mostly comes from informants, as stated here, what does that say about the accuracy of that body of information, given the self-service nature of its origin? In addition, The Feds get information from Surveillance and Eaves Dropping Tapes. It's not ONLY from Informants. The Feds basically convicted John Gotti because of Tapes that Gravano only supported with his Testimony. Gotti basically convicted himself as one example. Gravano just filled in some of the missing details.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 9:24 pmThe FBI is actually well known for vetting it's info very well, especially compared to state law enforcement. Hamlet Peralta also scammed a top police official out of even more money than he took from Federici.

You're upside down on your opinion. Feds had the Decav tapes way back in the 60s. Couldn't convict based on these. Had Ruggiero, Gotti, dellacroce tapes in mid 80s also. Couldnt convict. Only when a wiseguy informs or testifies can they convict. Think about that a day or two.Confederate wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 9:31 pmIn addition, The Feds get information from Surveillance and Eaves Dropping Tapes. It's not ONLY from Informants. Yeah Nicky. I did. You're right. Very intelligent post. Anything relevant info to add or is your co-signing bandwagon "jump-on-other-guys-dicks" post complete?NickyEyes1 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 7:40 pmDid you just get bitch slapped? I'm confused now. You've always based your opinion on Federal indictments. Now you're basing it on media articles?Wiseguy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 10:09 amI'm not sure, given this new article, but I still lean toward Romanello being the captain of that crew now.yatescj7781 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 24, 2018 10:04 pmIf you believe Tough Tony is a capo, then where is the indictment? Also, UTC, when the feds make a case, it is usually not just one dodgy informer on the stand. If it was just one turncoat, there's a big risk of self-serving, lying, making up facts to get himself off scot-free. But when you've got three, four, or a dozen turncoats on the stand, all who have a story that corroborates with eachother, then you've got a decent case. Couple that with wiretap, bugging, and physical surveillance.yatescj7781 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 11:40 pm If people start agreeing with me, I'll know I've become a conformist little cuck and kill myself.
