Corrozzo went away in 08, that's probably when Vernace got upped to consigliere, then he was arrested in 2011, he wasn't sentenced to life until 2014 so that's probably when they named a new consigliere.
Thanks that makes more sense.I always thought that when there was a ruling panel there was usually no underboss or Consigliere and sometimes no boss. That is where I got confused with Vernace being part of the ruling panel from 2008 to 2011. I thought he became Consigliere when Cefalu was named acting boss. But yes it makes more sense that he was named Consigliere in 2008. Maybe Gambino was the acting boss then, with Marino as acting underboss.

They are forgetting (of the top of my head):
Andy Russo, who is a first cousin to Carmine, and is the family's most recently identified street boss. His son Billy is also a capo.
Tom Farese who runs the family's Florida faction. He is married to Carmine's niece.
Donnie Montemarano was recalled as acting underboss in 2011. Him and Carmine were best friends when they were younger and when Carmine got a life sentence and moved to Lompoc, Donnie moved down to California to stay close to him.
John Franzese and his nephew Mike. Their family is very close to the Persicos and John goes back 50+ years with Carmine.
Tom Petrizzo is a Persico inlaw and is apparently back in the Persico's good graces after the civil war.
Speaking of which, the Orena kids seem to be on good terms with the Persicos nowadays? At least that's what I can gather from Facebook, there are all corresponding and interacting with each other.
A few years back, someone on the old Real Deal site made a list of the Persico 'related' Colombo members.
IIRC the list was about 50 members. It has basically been the Persico Family for many years now.

I don't believe Salvatore Persico was a brother of Carmine, probably a cousin. Scarpa said he was a brother of them in the 1980s, but other records show he wasn't. He is ID'd as simply "a relative" of Alphonse in a 1970s report. Salvatore was a former cop who later became involved in unions on the Persicos' behalf.

Also Petrizzo is Michael Persico's former in-law. He later married a daughter of Gambino soldier Dave Rava but she passed away.

No but you know as well as I do that it's pretty much the consensus across the board (feds, mob experts, mafiosi themselves) the Genovese family is the strongest family in New York and the country. So not sure why you're asking me that question to begin with.
All roads lead to New York.

You'd assume the gap is the closest since Castellano.
