OK here is the Tony "Dope" Delsanter answer to his nickname.
I will place my comments in parentheses.
A little background for those who don't know the story.
My wife, who was Tony Delsanter's Girlfriend, worked at the Akron Sicilian Club along with her Main Job in Hospitality Management and traveled regionally.
She said that their was a big Argument between the Families (I assume Cleveland and Pittsburgh) and also internally between the Old Guard and the Younger Guys about dealing in Dope. Tony was absolutely dead set against it (as were others within the Cleveland Organization). The established guys wanted to stay in "Gambling, Prostitution, Prohibition" so they wouldn't draw the heat (Low Profile). Tony "The Dope was going to mess things up" Delsanter. (I don't know who gave him the name whether it was the Young guys ((Cleveland or Pittsburgh)) or Pittsburgh Family.) This story was told to her by Dominic J. Papa aka "Migo" at the Akron Sicilian Club.
Now you know the REAL Story.

Well I guess that what Migo from the Akron Sicilian Club said and he must not have been told the right story. So what is your source for this information? - just curious

OK - so lets go with this scenarios
1. Either Dominic J. Papa "Migo" was misinformed
OR
2. Migo was trying to Protect my Wife from thinking she was dating "A Dope" or someone that was dumb when he was a kid.
Then again possibly
A Third Scenario that Tony HATED the Name "Dope"
so he would say it was about Drugs and had that story told to people.
It is of no consequence really

Here is a picture of the Old Akron Sicilian Club in 1963.
It is located at 2346 Theiss Road in Northampton Township which later was annexed by the City of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

One of Akron's earlier bosses was Rosario Borgia

All I have is that he was a BH leader in Akron

Borgia's story could be made in an action gangster/police movie imo. Really a "clever" idea: putting a bounty for every policeman killed...If he lived in the same time period as Toto' Riina, they would have become best friends probably.
