If they really did transfer him to another Family within New York it would be the first time this is known to have happened since possibly Jake Columbo in the 1950s and we don't have many other examples even before that.
Anthony Persiano transferred from the Lucchese family to Philly and if I recall correctly Robert Vaccaro was also made into the Lucchese family but transferred to the Gambino’s.
Persiano's Lucchese induction was apparently invalidated which is why he was re-inducted opposed to transferred.
I'm not familiar w/ the Vaccaro story. Where does that come from?
If I’m not mistaken Vaccqro was a Lucchese Associate who transferred and was made in the Gambinos in the late 1990s/early 2000s.

That's my interpretation of it too. An unrecognised branch of the Philly family that still looked to Scarfo as the boss. On the Nick Stefanelli tapes, Scoops Licata and Lou Fazzini also speak about how Scarfo Jr tried to recruit Joey Grande by offering to make him a captain under his father. Fazzini goes on to explicitly state that they weren't referring to making Grande a captain with the Luccheses. It's clear they were trying to form their own version of the Philly family.

I’m probably in the minority here but I don’t have hard time believing this story could at least partially be true.
Mancuso and Bonnano Bronx faction have history of being aggressive, murders etc. Vito Guzzo would fit the mold there.. if there is a claim to be made that Guzzo making ceremony is invalid I could see Mancuso or other families trying to make a claim for him... who knows..
