The mob is currently more active in South Florida than people think.
Follow that up?
I thought we didnt need any evidence!
Just based on things I've heard from some ex-law enforcement sources and a couple others who tell me there is still decent activity in Palm Beach and Broward counties especially. Also, I've been to some places recently, in Pompano Beach and Ft Lauderdale, where some shady characters are hanging about. Is it feasible? Well, the FDLE, which used to be the dominant law org investigating organized crime, no longer has active OC investigators, Broward COunty's Sheriff, which used to have a huge traditional OC squad is now heavily focused on drug syndicates and gangs. And the FBI in South FLorida has been heavily focused on human trafficking of late.
No evidence, save for anecdotes, but since law enforcement is not really focused on it, feasible.
Would your suspicions be New York families operating, Tampa, a bit of Philly or all of the above and any others?
Florida has to be 1000% cartel no?
Size matters and 5 wise guys aren't going to do shit to 2000 Hondurans.

I have deep down suspicions that Cefalu isn't the official and hasn't been for 10plus years (don't start with your Pete Gotti crap)
Brain just refuses to accept that a BOSS of one of the five could be unindicted for what, 15/20 years and free on the streets having final say.
I think John Gambino WAS the boss. Cali and now Mannino.
Now hit me with you best Barney is da boss and unindicted retorts...
Do we know where the claim cefalu is boss came from? Is that fbi or did a rat confirm it? I personally lean towards he is the boss and conceals himself behind the others but maybe I give too much credit lol. Pennisi spoke as if frank cali was always thought of as leader of the gambinos when he was a member. Regardless though whoever boss is of both gambino and Genovese families there have been no indicted bosses for 10 years + whoever it is!

I think they would operate in different spheres, whilst government clamps down on Latin gangs on drug trade etc, mob builds its power in construction, insurance scams etc that start to go under the radar with law enforcement eyes elsewhere

New York primarily. Nothing really left of the old South Florida Trafficante crew.

There is a social club in South Philly called Palizzi Social club, there is a video on YT about it, that originally opened in 1918 for italians from a certain town (Vasto in/near Abbruzzo). After seeing this, I thought it could possibly be one of the early "different" Families that Harry Riccobene talked about.
I’m a member at Palizzi. I eat there every couple of months. I’m also a member at Messina social club, but the food isn’t as good there.
Ironically isn't the chef there named Joey Baldino?

I’ve been told Cardinale from Buffalo runs health care schemes down there with Norm Dobiesz. They both ran Envirosure that was tied to Buffalo mob and I think love canal cleanup. They are involved with Deman Data and Florida Data Systems … and there are court records that allege a tie to organized crime and allege Deman Data and Florida Data Systems are/were defrauding the Columbia Hospital System.
If Joe Cardinale isn’t made he is still very close to Big Joe Todaro.
From one court document
D. Ties to Organized Crime (Doc. No. 592)
Next, Plaintiffs move to exclude evidence of, and references to, Plaintiffs' and Dobiesz's alleged criminal conduct, criminal investigations, and links to organized crime. Specifically, Plaintiffs believe that Defendants may try to introduce evidence of, or make references to, their allegations that: (1) Dobiesz was indicted for mail fraud and witness tampering more than twenty years ago; (2) Dobiesz was associated with a company called Envirosure more than twenty years ago, and Envirosure was under indictment for filing false records and being linked to organized crime; (3) Dobiesz is currently linked to organized crime and has someone on DDS and/or FSS's payroll (Joe Cardinale) that is also linked to organized crime; and (4) Schessel has reported Dobiesz and his alleged ties to organized crime to the FBI, and as a result, Dobiesz is currently under investigation.

The feds identified him as the boss a decade ago.
