Alot of former rats on youtube have said that in their neighborhoods they had different families but most guys wanted to be gambinos. One of them said that the luchesses and the colombos were the easiest to get made in.I think thats true look at john pennessi getting made after 10 months. As for vinny madolone yes hes probably the best fighter in all the 5 families but to make the guy a captain who probably entered the life in his mid to late 40s as an associate is extremely strange.Id like to known how he started out im guessing as collections for a made guy and he made his way up from there.

As a boxer and queens guy I’m sure he knew people from just being anround the atea and then would’ve gained peoples attention just from who he is. I imagine mob guys liked having him around and he gravitated towards them. I somewhat doubt he would’ve had to do too much “traditional” work to make his way up but I’m sure who he was around would’ve used him as an intimidation factor + got him involved in some businesses if he needed the money. Similar to pennisi im not sure he would’ve had to do too much to prove himself. I still laugh thinking about pennisis story where he looks across the bar and Vinny is there with his shirt off
Any guesses on who the Sicillian faction members he mentions are "Salvatore" and "Antonio"... always lame when people hint at things... like you are giving the first names already. I got a chuckle when he mentioned Einstein at the end.. wtf lol

He put up a picture of Sorrento on 18th Ave when he mentioned them but Sorrento closed and is now Caffe Bella.
