Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
Nice photos.
I’d think that Carmine Jannece is dead by now; if not, he’d be turning 98 this year. I was not able to find any obituary or anything for him, though. What’s funny is that his family had already declared him legally dead back in ‘96 when he was charged for the 1991 Saugatuck heist. Of course, Jannece was living out in the open in the NW burbs under the name “Carmine Senese” for 17 years while being sought by the Feds. If he cooperated at all following his 2008 arrest, I have not seen any evidence of it at least.

Such interesting stuff, Buffalo. These guys were not on my radar previously. It's why I chuckle when people say "they had 28 memebers in 2005, so they are almost gone". I'm not saying any of these guys are made members necessarily, just that the "network" is a lot larger than most people think.

He was sentenced to 5 years in prison for the Feds - I believe his cooperation may have been limited to that single Saugatuck heist. Says he only took $90K as his share - but that was a lot of money in 1991 and quite a score.PolackTony wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 10:45 am Nice photos.

Agreed - glad to pique someone's interest. The Outfit is not for the lazy - you really have to dig and that's good bc I'm retired. I have an acquaintance from LIUNA who played Chicago 16" softball with Pat Mazza in the 1990s on the Northwest Side and compared him to Bob DeNiro's character in Heat - just a very lowkey guy.Coloboy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 11:56 am Such interesting stuff, Buffalo. There is also the Dote indictments that mention Francis Mazza as being Dote's 'jailed partner' -I believe the Saugatuck money and other scores likely financed that book and juice business.
Question is whether Pat Mazza is involved today...

Hey guys, this is a general question and ask for help. I'm making a chart for Chicago in the year 1998 using a list someone made in the chart section + my own somewhat decent knowledge of the membership. However, I don't have a confident knowledge on who was exactly doing what in terms of running crews + the administration. I also am gonna be doing the associates for the time from the CCC info. Are you guys okay with helping me narrow down the membership list + suspected guys and the admins? Crews too if possible. I wanna make it as accurate as hopefully can be for the time.

Chinatown/Cicero Crew member Anthony 'Tony G' Gallichio in prison.
Gallichio was involved in Richard Mara's 1973 failed hit on a government witness against Paul DiCaro and Ronnie Jarrett (Ronald Brown) who was taken for a ride and shot, then survived. This was basically the exact same pattern as Joe Eto's failed hit, though somehow gets less attention. Mara would become an informant quickly thereafter, while DiCaro, Gallichio, Gurgone, Jarrett and several other members of their burglary crew would all serve time. I'm told there are several Gallichios (John, James) who are/were affiliated through union jobs and/or burglary and gambling.

Paulie DiCaro is still alive and kicking. He’s in his 80s. He was the manager of Cafe Bionda before it changed ownerships a couple of years ago. He’s close with Fratto from my understanding and was also very close to Porky Pordyla before he died. He was also questioned in Jarrett’s murder.NorthBuffalo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 12:30 pm Chinatown/Cicero Crew member Anthony 'Tony G' Gallichio in prison.

Per my source - there are two different Paul DiCaro's from Bridgeport who are related - Pauly and 'Web.' Pauly the owner of Cafe Bionda is a relation of 'Specs' DiCaro. There is a Pauly 'Web' DiCaro who died in 2007 and was a member of the Cicero crew along with Anthony Gallichio. Pauly who owns the restaurant was not a rough guy from what I'm told but was related to quite a few.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 5:27 pmPaulie DiCaro is still alive and kicking. I dated a girl that worked at Cafe Bionda around 2009. It used to be owned by a guy named Joe Farina, IIRC. There were always interesting characters hanging around there.NorthBuffalo wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 8:03 amPer my source - there are two different Paul DiCaro's from Bridgeport who are related - Pauly and 'Web.' Web DiCaro was the father of Martha DiCaro who was murdered by Rocco LaMantia.

We actually had a thread a few years back about the two Paul DiCaros:
