Nice photos.

I’d think that Carmine Jannece is dead by now; if not, he’d be turning 98 this year. I was not able to find any obituary or anything for him, though. What’s funny is that his family had already declared him legally dead back in ‘96 when he was charged for the 1991 Saugatuck heist. Of course, Jannece was living out in the open in the NW burbs under the name “Carmine Senese” for 17 years while being sought by the Feds. If he cooperated at all following his 2008 arrest, I have not seen any evidence of it at least.

Such interesting stuff, Buffalo. These guys were not on my radar previously. It's why I chuckle when people say "they had 28 memebers in 2005, so they are almost gone". I'm not saying any of these guys are made members necessarily, just that the "network" is a lot larger than most people think.

He was sentenced to 5 years in prison for the Feds - I believe his cooperation may have been limited to that single Saugatuck heist. Says he only took $90K as his share - but that was a lot of money in 1991 and quite a score.

Agreed - glad to pique someone's interest. The Outfit is not for the lazy - you really have to dig and that's good bc I'm retired. I have an acquaintance from LIUNA who played Chicago 16" softball with Pat Mazza in the 1990s on the Northwest Side and compared him to Bob DeNiro's character in Heat - just a very lowkey guy.

There is also the Dote indictments that mention Francis Mazza as being Dote's 'jailed partner' -I believe the Saugatuck money and other scores likely financed that book and juice business.

Question is whether Pat Mazza is involved today...
