This is a pretty old post (~2017) but what do you think about Joe Pete's characterization by bobbybats? I haven't really followed your Kansas City reporting that closely in recent times but I remember Simone being identified as a central figure with the remnants.

Well , he’s the top suspect in two hits . So he clearly has balls . His dad is underboss. What his exact position is , whether he’s a “captain” or not , I don’t know and don’t wish to speculate . He was involved in that brawl last December too .

Regarding the murders, I know Harold Ash is one but who is the other?

The captain reference is from a June 2017 article on your website. Simone and the late Cammisano Jnr are described as reputed captains there.

KC seems to be doing basically the same exact things they were doing 50 years and new things as well. People cant grasp that the mob has adapted to the times but they still have there hand in gambling and loans and stolen property and auto body dealerships, Skimming ATMS, Vending Machines and auto garages and drugs.. In KC and for that matter around the country... What has changed is they dont kill like they used to and in that sense the FBI won but theres still money in the street and theres still guys making millions

they act like cause Nick Civella died and they dont skim from casinos and control the unions in KC that the 25 or so made guys and around 100 associates stopped crime cause they couldnt skim from the Unions and Casinos anymore.. How do think think Morentina Jr and Cammarano Jr, Simone,Tony Ripe, Siorentino made there living since Civella died in 1983 and for the rest of the 90s,2000s and 2010s. They were indicted for some of it in the early 2010s

If you believe Kansas City has 25 members and 100 associates today I have a timeshare and some Florida swampland to sell you.
