Your welcome… I would disagree about the there was no direct mafia involvement in this case though. After all, Serio had Michael Masecchia arrange a meeting for him with Butch BiFulco in order to enlist BiFulco’s Canadian connections so he, Serio, could control the marijuana trade in WNY. Micheal was not only alleged to be a made man by his associates Lou Salva and Ron Serio, but by LE as evidenced by the internal email to Bongiovanni. Not to mention, I think it would have been difficult if not outright impossible for Masecchia to arrange that meeting between Serio and BiFulco if Mesecchia wasn’t made. That my opinion anyway.

The DOB in the obituary differs by 1 year from her DOB in the Luppino genealogical chart posted in this forum many times over the years. The chart shows her maiden name as "Gioia."

The obituary makes no mention of Cece’s wife, Angelica Prochilo.

In Italy, a wiretap of a conversation between Macrì and fellow 'ndranghetista Carmelo Muià mentioned the murder of Cece Luppino 14 days earlier. Macrì seemed to know the background to Cece’s murder and to the earlier stabbing in Natale Luppino’s residence. Muià would then travel to Ontario to speak with brothers Angelo and Cosimo Figliomeni to find out why Muià‘s brother was killed in Calabria.

So if the omission of Angelica’s name from Cece’s obituary is a snub, the people snubbed could be important people.
