Good quote from the article above:
According to our information, this ENRCO investigation targeting the Hells and the search targeting Del Balso in relation to the shooting against Leonardo Rizzuto are however two separate files. This suggests that the bikers would therefore not be involved in the Rizzuto affair.
Anyone know why Del Balso had a falling out with the Rizzuto/Sicilian faction? I know he was out in Quebec City for a while.

So they're saying Del Baso was behind the recent attempt on Rizzuto?
Del Balso, Barberio, Whooley were all shot at... pretty recently... say the last couple years. All were at some point described as Rizzuto "Strongmen". Is it connected? Or are they all isolated incidents? They seem sure it's not the Hells Angels planning the hits... so who is trying to weaken their presence in the streets? Both hits on DelBalso and Rizzuto seem similar, sloppy, like the work of paid shooters, underworld mercenaries, consistent with Canada.

I think outside of key surnames, like Rizzuto, Renda, Manno, Everyone else is a business associate, and Leo seems to not be so great at managing illicit activities. He doesn't seem to carry the respect of the streets. Who's the Whooley? It was said Barberio was their street boss, now he's said to be on the outs with them? So what is he? Independent?

It's seems the cellular structure is still there, with no group quite strong enough to be the central reference. It seems to be a mix of the strongest Hells and the remnants of the most industrious of the Rizzuto clan.

With Sollecito out of it, and no Book to finance activities, (Who has it now? Charlie Renda? DelBalso? The Hells?) What's the core business exactly, at this point?

What I'm dying to know is what's the Hells relationship with the Mexicans, and how Mexican wholesaler/ importers affect the overall balance of power up there. Where does it leave the Italians if THEY used to procure and import the coke?

This is an older article from Oct. 26, 2021, but it mentions relationships between 1. HAs Martin Robert and Stéphane Plouffe, 2. Raynald Desjardins and son Mathieu, and 3. the Montreal underworld. A poster on Gangster BB dredged up to the article over there; otherwise, I don’t think I would have remembered the story.

So there's stuff coming out tonight in French that Del Balso met openly with the HA leadership, while under surveillance, after the searches yesterday. At the end of last year someone had this guy desperate and begging priests for donated clothes and jewelry back so he could pay someone who obviously wanted to be paid...then he gets shot at and then shot...seems like he was left with no choice but to start shooting back...

I’ll repeat here, below, what I recently wrote on another OC forum re: translations.

It’s very rare for articles in the newspapers that are part of Québecor Media inc. (QMI) to be translated into English — and even when the articles are translated, not all portions of the originals are translated.

Translated articles will show “QMI Agency” where the author’s byline usually appears.
————
I’ll add to that: If a French-language newspaper had money to provide translations, it would. But these newspapers continue to move, as have their competitors, to being online only in order to save money.

Our Bureau of Investigation has learned that the powerful Hells Martin Robert ran the risk of going face to face with Francesco Del Balso, while the latter is now the subject of a contract of murder of $ 250,000 in the shady world.
According to our sources, the police are well aware of this meeting which is not without raising questions.

She wonders in particular if the alliance that the Hells Angels and the Rizzuto clan sealed together nearly 23 years ago, in the summer of 2000, to share the narcotics market in the Montreal region would now be in danger
.
In search of support in the criminal world, Del Balso, whom the RCMP identified as a senior officer of the Rizzuto clan when it targeted him in Operation Coliseum, has been considered, since 2020, as a close collaborator of the Hells and MartinRobert.
The influential Hells is himself on file with the police as a business associate of Leonardo Rizzuto, co-head of the Italian mafia.

Martin Robert looks like the closest anyone has come to duplicating Vitos abilities.

Some questions....

- What's the status of the Caruana- Cuntreras? If they are out, or diminished, where does that leave the Italians as far as the narcotics trade? Is it all on Miriarchi for importation?

- Would Dejardins be brought back in? What's stopping Robert's, or Whooley, or anyone with resources from simply making a deal with any number of Mexican supplier/ wholesalers?

- You can easily see how the Violis would have been courted by Montagna and others with their Colombian connections...

- Is Del Balso... what? Not mafia anymore? He's a Biker now? Did he trade a Button for a Patch? Was he never made?

- The Book, the narcotics imports, the gambling cafes, and to a lesser extent construction. The entities controlling these enterprises are in charge.....
