Requested him as well a few months back, the status states that it has been "previously requested", so either they're working on it or its taking a long to send out the preprocessed material. Either way we'll see.

One file I’d be interested to see if there’s any information Barney Bellomo’s father, Salvatore Bellomo. The limited information I’ve seen about him is that he was a low-key soldier from the 116th street crew. After reading the file JohnnyS posted about Barney in the FBI Files section, I reread the previous article from Eboli on Barney and B.’s “Bellomo family history and connections” write up and it got me thinking if there is a FBI file on Barney’s dad, Salvatore Bellomo? If there was something, would there be anything of substance?

My curiosity centers on whether or not Barney inherited or partnered with his father on any rackets either before he was made in 1977 or while they were both soldiers in the 116th street crew from 1977 until Salvatore’s death in 1980. We’ve seen throughout the history of the mob that that the son (or new ones/brother/cousin/family member) of a made member often worn together and/or take over their operations upon death.

We all have read the story of Salvatore asking Fat Tony to keep an eye out for his son after he dies, so I’d also be interested in learning how Salvatore fit into the 116th St crew as well as the Genovese family at large. Given Barney’s reputation for being surveillance conscious which was undoubtedly influenced by the Genovese administration and his crew when he was younger, I’m curious if there’s any info on his father being similarly surveillance conscious too. We know Barney was a rising star from a young age and was schooled by some powerhouses but I have to imagine he learned some of that from his father too since he was also in the same crew (I guess that would depend somewhat if his father was battling a long illness before finally passing away in 1980).

There’s not a lot of info on Salvatore’s rackets in those write ups but Eboli’s article stated Salvatore was likely involved with traditional mob activities and there was a “Sal Belono” who appeared on a 1960’s NYPD list of well-known heroin along side well know Genovese members and associates.

Barney was inducted in 1977 and his father was there before dying in 1980. Sal must’ve had a good relationship with Fat Tony who promised that he’d keep an eye on Barney after Sal died. I’d be very interested to learn more about Sal and his influence with the 116th St crew/Genovese as well as Barney. Obviously Barney learned a lot from the Genovese admin on staying low key and avoiding surveillance but I’m curious if there’s any reports or info of Barney and his dad partnering together in any rackets together.

I filed for pre-processed releases on Joe Colombo and Mike Miranda using this:

https://documents2.theblackvault.com/do ... t-fbi1.pdf

Hopefully they release them soon, the last time I tried to request a pre-processed release they decided to treat it as a new request.

Does anybody have a 92-NY number for Joseph Gambino, brother of Carlo? Thanks.

I have Paul's NY number, 92-1389. You can try stating in your request that you're wanting pages from his just his NY file, even if you don't have it.

Thanks. It's a bit confusing because there were two Joseph Gambino's in the Gambino family at that time.

Paul's file is complete dirt, no point of requesting it.

Recently requested photographs from the Toyland Social Club. The status says there's already been a release, so hopefully I'll get those soon.
