List of known / confirmed rats as of 1963?
Hey all, question
What is the full of rats from each NY family that we know for a fact were rats as of 1963? Only names I have off the top of my head are Scarpa, Santantonio, Tony Anastasio….who else? Lombardozzi I don’t think started squeaking until 1968?

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.
Re: List of known / confirmed rats as of 1963?
Yes, Greg Scarpa, Alfredo Santantonio, Tony Anastasio, Joe Valachi, but also Pete LaTempa, Ernest Rupolo, Nicola Gentile, Salvatore Clemente, Dr. Joseph Romano, Chester LaMare, Joseph Tocco, Eugene Giannini, Bartolo Fontana, and Dominick "the Gap" Petrelli, Salvatore "Dago Louie" Piscopo, and I'm sure many others. In Sicily I can think of Francesco Siino and Dr. Melchiorre Allegra, but there were others.

Paul Antinori, who was seemingly a Tampa member, may have been an informant before his death in 1963.
I've got a very limited understanding of FBI files and all that but it seems to me that he was source "TP 22-C", IDing several members and discussing individuals who LE thought were connected to the mob:

Nice find. Though Paul had been out of the rackets for some time, following his conviction on narcotics charges, he definitely had the intel on the makeup of the organization in the 30s and 40.JoePuzzles234 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 7:38 am Paul Antinori, who was seemingly a Tampa member, may have been an informant before his death in 1963.

I would guarantee the choice to furnish information to law enforcement came after his brother Joe was killed in Nov 1953, by the Trafficantes.

Thank you. In Cigar City City Mafia, he's listed as a bolita rackets figure and Ignazio's son - would you be able to clarify if he was a made member?sdeitche wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 9:37 amNice find. Some sources list him as an associate while others say he was a soldier

None of the Good Killers claimed to be made. It was 1921 and nobody in law enforcement was aware of what it meant to be made and no one asked. My guess is that he was an associate who was on his way to getting made until he started talking. But it's possible that he was made. We tried getting the court trial transcripts years ago but they couldn't be located and may have been destroyed.Sullycantwell wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 3:47 amdid Bartolo Fantana claim to be made? is there a link or anything to his actual testimony?Antiliar wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 10:35 pm Yes, Greg Scarpa, Alfredo Santantonio, Tony Anastasio, Joe Valachi, but also Pete LaTempa, Ernest Rupolo, Nicola Gentile, Salvatore Clemente, Dr. Joseph Romano, Chester LaMare, Joseph Tocco, Eugene Giannini, Bartolo Fontana, and Dominick "the Gap" Petrelli, Salvatore "Dago Louie" Piscopo, and I'm sure many others. How about the Flemmi brothers Stevie and Jimmy from Boston? Do they count.

It's extremely difficult to say who was 'made' in Tampa pre-1960s. even then, there are gaps. My best guess would be yes, due to the fact his Dad was the boss and him and his brother were so tightly involved in the mob-run narcotics operations with the Kansas City family. However, he also retired from everything after his brother was killed and lived out his life legit. I've spoken with one of his sons, and the other Paul Jr was a long-time Hillsborough state attorney then private practice. Both of whom had nothignwhatsoever to do with OC.JoePuzzles234 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 9:53 amThank you. Thanks for the info, I had always wondered about his membership status.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 9:46 amIt's extremely difficult to say who was 'made' in Tampa pre-1960s. even then, there are gaps.
