Great stuff. Says Ross Musso was living in Houston at one point and mentions Rockford too.

Interesting that Civello said to the guys out East that Dallas should have more members than Houston and that they should be making more younger guys.

Re: Visiting Dallas 1963
Good info. Almost seems to suggest that Dallas and Houston were different organizations, but then the informant apparently underscored that both groups were under the Piranios.
"Hey, hey, hey — this is America, baby! Survival of the fittest.”
Re: Visiting Dallas 1963
When they were down to 3 members, I wonder if that applied only to Dallas or included Houston. The Houston and Galveston factions are more of a mystery -- we know some of the big names but not really much organizational info on them.
This is the known lineage:
19?? - 1930 Carlo Piranio (d. 1930) - Corleone, Palermo
1930 - 1956 Joseph Piranio (became boss 1930; d. 1956, suicide) - Corleone, Palermo
1956 - 1970 Joseph Civello (d. 1970) - Salaparuta, Trapani
1970?-19?? Joseph Campisi
Wikipedia says Joseph Ianni was boss between 1970 and 1973 and cites a book I don't own, so not sure how concrete that is. Ianni was the suspected underboss so he could well have been a boss short-term before he died.
I've seen people say Michelangelo Gennaro (Corleone) was an early boss but I'm not sure that's substantiated. His first cousin was the Corleone boss in the 1920s and the Gennaros were close to the Dallas Family for generations plus I believe they intermarried with the Lanzas of SF. When I talked to Antiliar about it neither of us were aware of any definitive evidence, though.

Re: Visiting Dallas 1963
Can't read them they are too small.
Also, would you like to collab on a 1963 Rockford chart?
Re: Visiting Dallas 1963
Yeah I can't seem to enlarge them unless I zoom in. A 1963 chart sounds awesome, I'm down!Chris Christie wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 4:00 amCan't read them they are too small.

Re: Visiting Dallas 1963
Looking at what Cavita posted, some names I wasn't familiar with + what I could find of their heritage:
Galveston
Vincenzo Bellomo - Corleone?
Anthony Cesari - Lucca, Tuscany
Constantine Demetrisene? - Hard to read his name, closest matches I can find are Greek
Joe Massa - Caccamo, Palermo
Joe Messina - 1900-1988, born in Lousiana, father might be "Guy" (Gaetano?)
August Simoncini - ?
Houston
Luke Saporito - Corleone, Palermo
Isidore Cavaretta - Castelvetrano, Trapani
Also Alfonso Attardi is listed in Houston. Gambino member who was first made in Sciacca.
Biagio Angelica on the list from Houston was ID'd by Chicago informant Teddy DeRose as a Genovese member based in TX. DeRose visited him and knew him well.

Re: Visiting Dallas 1963
I didn't see your post before but looking at it now has me interested. The fact Rockford had connections to the Dallas family is clear through Civella marrying a Rockford woman, but I also noticed something else. There was a highly respected guy in Rockford named Joseph "Jo-Jo" Saporito who owned Jo-Jo-'s Tap for many years. Saporito was born in Rockford in 1918 but his parents Leoluca Saporito and Lucia Bruscato were both born in Corleone, Sicily. FBI files kind of hint around that possibly Saporito traveled to Florida to inform boss Joe Zammuto about the arrest of capo Charles VInce in 1971 so maybe he was a messenger of sorts? His son Lou Saporito was also a member of the Latin Counts street gang and I wonder if Saporito was related to the Luke Saporito of the Houston LCN group.B. wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 8:49 am Looking at what Cavita posted, some names I wasn't familiar with + what I could find of their heritage:

Re: Visiting Dallas 1963
Excellent stuff. The Corleone background makes sense. Curious how many Corleonesi were in Rockford given Oliveri ended up there too.

Sorry for the spam, this just sent me on a rabbit hole, but it appears Luke Cortemeglia is a member.
