Right now I’m watching a replay of the French-language J.E TV program — about Colubriale and his company Ricova — that aired Friday at 9:30 pm EDT.
At the 6:45 mark, journalist/host Félix Séguin, who is also narrating, is more specific about the provenance of the American guests at the 2009 private party for Nick Rizzuto Sr.: they are from New York. No other details provided.
Go to https://www.qub.ca/tvaplus/tva/j-e/sais ... 1082337152 to watch last night's episode. On the landing page, you'll have to wait for three or four 15-sec. ads before the actual program starts. Scrub to around the 6:00 mark to listen to the detail above.

What about Bertolo? I can't come to any understanding as to why he was apparently in control of the sportsbook? My understanding is that a lot of the catalyst for the Bonnanos planting their flag up there was to get the bookies back in line....
Jumped over here so we don't clog up Chin chart thread.
Are you thinking of Paolo Gervasi? He controlled sportbetting and after he was killed in 2004 Giordano took it over. Bertolo never controlled it as far as I know. As for whether or not he was a Bonanno, he's never been identified and I've never seen him listed as a suspected member.

Yeah, my mistake. Although.... the question can be applied to Bertolo too....

OcSleeper,
Depends on what we consider to be speculation.
My mistake, I was referring to Bertolo when I said he's never been identified as a member. I know Gervasi has long been suspected as a Montreal Bonanno.

The images accompanying the article look as though they might be from the parking lot of the strip mall where the Café Bellerose is located — you’ll recall the café was the site of the 2010 murder of Ennio Bruni and of a 2016 firebombing.
