Another great breakdown Chin. Any details on the medical fraud that he was involved with?

Re: Joseph Campanella testimony notes (Persico trial)
I did some more thinking about this and there has to be a gap between Russo and Persico. Campanella testified that Persico was introduced as the new Acting Boss at a meeting around 1998. Granted, the timeline could be wrong, but Campanella crucially mentioned that Vincent DeMartino was one of the members present when the introduction happened. DeMartino was incarcerated until November 1997, so that's the earliest it could have possibly happened. Russo however had already been incarcerated since September 1996.
So it seems pretty certain that there was no Acting Boss on the street for at least 14 months, possibly longer.

not sure what you meant with havent but this is from deross's wikifuriofromnaples wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 10:27 am From what I understood,De Martino havent the ok to kill Campanella and once in prison nobody helped Campanella despite kept his mouth shout on the who shot him.
Later in 1999, DeRoss and Persico ordered the murder of Joseph "Joe Campy" Campanella, a Cutolo crew member. Several Persico loyalists ambushed and shot Campanella, but he survived and later became a government informant.

DiLeonardo said Allie Persico became acting boss after going to the other Families and asking them to recognize his father as official boss after the war. Peter Gotti hesitated but DiLeonardo convinced him to support the Persicos. The timeline would fit what Campanella said, somewhere around 1998 as that's around the time Peter Gotti was starting to run things.chin_gigante wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 8:37 amI did some more thinking about this and there has to be a gap between Russo and Persico. That's interesting. I don't know the timeline but I remember Vitale saying at their infamous 'hotel meeting' after both faction reps for the Colombos left, the remaining families there decided once and for all that they'd support the Persico faction. I wonder if there weren't any Gambinos at that meeting or if they just went along with it but had other ideasB. wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 1:59 amDiLeonardo said Allie Persico became acting boss after going to the other Families and asking them to recognize his father as official boss after the war.
