Massino, you gnat.

Kidding. DiPilato is very public on his social media account.

How great would it be if it turned out the Bonannos reinstated their Arizona crew under DiPilato, haha. We have guys like Charles Stango who lived in Vegas but still oversaw his NJ crew so doesn't necessarily mean DiPilato was demoted though I do wonder if a lot of these Cammarano guys were pulled down. Not necessarily shelved like the Grimaldis (Cammarano's in-laws) but I'm sure some demotions happened.

Be curious if the consigliere did this in the Cammarano election(s).
On that thought, when John Palazzolo was cited for VOSR it was noted that he had been observed meeting with Anthony Rabito in the parking lot of the Nevada Diner in Elmhurst on Mar 22, 2015. That was the same day that the vote was held to elect Cammarano as Acting Boss. I can't find it if occurred earlier or later in the day, but the meeting was almost certainly for Rabito to inform Palazzolo about the result of the vote or that it was going to take place.

The next day, Palazzolo was observed at the Trattoria Thirty Five restaurant in Bayside meeting with Frank Salerno, John Sciremammano, Pasquale Maiorino, Vincent Caroleo, and Enzo Stagno. Prior to the meeting that day, Salerno had been to visit Mancuso at Danbury.

Another good observation. Rabito might well have been chosen to contact Palazzolo as consigliere since the Bonannos put a lot of emphasis on that position.

It's unfortunate these recent Bonanno CWs haven't shared much insight on the transition period between 2009-2011 given Lovaglio was in prison and Carrube wasn't made.

A big mystery is what Montagna's position was after his deportation. He was no longer "the" acting boss but given their constant use of panels we can't rule out whether he remained on a panel during his time in Montreal. He wasn't randomly arrested and thrown out of the country but he and the Bonannos had significant time to prepare. It's unfortunate the CWs weren't around for this and when they did get involved in post-2011 affairs the NYC situation was confusing enough for them.

The identification of Zancocchio as a member of Cammarano’s crew could also hint at succession there. Zancocchio is an Acting Captain by March 2015 and soon afterwards moves up to official Captain, Panel member, and Consigliere. It’s possible he was acting for Cammarano, then briefly took over the crew officially. Raises the question of what happened to the crew after Zancocchio was upped to Consigliere.
Just a shot in the dark but

Was Joe Grimaldi a captain by this time? We know he didn’t take over his fathers crew so maybe he got his brother in laws old crew?

Vito Grimaldi was an associate of Joe Massino's decina when he was a captain. I remember seeing that he was in the Asaro crew for a time as well after he was made in the 1990s and Vinny Asaro became a captain (Asaro inherited at least part of the Massino/Vitale decina). Offhand I don't remember seeing the Grimaldis being assigned to the Cammarano crew despite the relation but maybe they did end up there.

You have a lot of captains who overlap in crew history during the same period. Cammarano, Lovaglio, the Grimaldis, apparently Zancocchio, and the Asaros. Probably hard to trace a clear succession given the Bonanno tendency to break up and create new crews.

Lovaglio has the Grimaldi's and Zancocchio as seperate Captains during the vote for Cammarano with Natale Mule as Acting Capo for Joseph Grimaldi.

What confuses things even more is it's the norm for the Bonannos to have acting captains while the captain is still on the street. It turns out even the acting captains have an acting captain when they have legal trouble, i.e. Giallanzo and looks to be the same with Pipitone.

I don't know where the Fasitta crew comes in. He's a Sicilian around the same area as the old Middle Village crew Pipitone was servicing for DeCicco but appear to be separate. I assume Masi was acting for the Fasitta crew as they're close but Masi is also close to the Grimaldis and it's hard to assume anything.

This guy cooperated back in 92 when the family had control of the ny posy distribution. No one thought a thing. Also funny how when he was wearing a wire it seems everyone knew and wouldn't talk to him. I would never guess the fbi would even try to flip the guy he wasn't doing criminal shit he says. Weird.he flipped again over a gun hmmm

- Lovaglio had wanted Carrube and Gene Lombardo to go into business making frozen pizzas to be put in stores
- Lombardo, another Bonanno associate, was Carrube’s on and off partner in two or three different businesses and ran the pizzeria on Hylan Boulevard

Gene Lombardo takes over this pizzeria on Hylan from Carrube at some point and turns it into ‘The Square’ then he proceeds to steal the L&B recipe and ends up in a beef with Frank Guerra and the Colombo family.
