From what I remember he was supposed to gaurd the premises but left it one night which allowed the Feds to go in and bug it.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

I believe it was Felice who shared info that one of the concerns of the Gotti faction was retaliation from the Sicilians. Interestingly it mentioned Giuseppe "Joe from the Bronx" Gambino, not John Gambino (which makes some sense given Joe was an alleged relative of Carlo and Paul). Have to imagine if there was any fear about the Sicilians that promoting John Gambino was a political move -- promoting an important Sicilian and taking an entire crew of them off the shelf.richard_belding wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 11:04 am John Gambino's promotion to Capodecina was fairly significant. His C&G construction company represented the Gambino's in the concrete club, and the Santa Rosalia feast was a huge source of income. Not to mention his obvious ties to the other side.

I forget where I heard it, maybe Sammy's podcast but he said the move to promote Johnny Gambino was partly in fact due to this...it was the first time I'd heard it but I guess after the Castellano hit Gambino was pissed...B. wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 8:37 pmI believe it was Felice who shared info that one of the concerns of the Gotti faction was retaliation from the Sicilians. pretty sure nino was on house arrest when big paul was killed. gotti tried caling nino in but he never came. i think nino went back to jail in 86 gotti just let it go. gotti was on tape talking to sammy saying gotti did nino a favor because big paul was gonna kill nino after there trial for all the heat he brought

I believe it was in Howard Blum’s book that mentioned Mouw reading a TE report from 1988, just a few days after Mike Cirelli’s funeral. According to the TE- simply named “Frankie”- the entire Gambino hierarchy had shown up for the mass and he had overheard Gotti saying to Norman Dupont that he wanted the locks changed immediately “on his uncles apartment” above the Ravenite. The narrative was that this was the first inkling to the Cirelli apartment, but take Blum’s book for what it’s worth.

Was Rosario Gambino an associate of Gotti's?
Re: Gotti coronation Dec/Jan '86
Palermo member "on record" with the Gambino Family.
- When a Philly member had a dispute with Rosario, Leonetti said they took the issue to Gotti who explained Rosario was made in Sicily not his Family. The rules in the US are that a Sicilian member who doesn't transfer has to be represented by a US Family. Scarfo had been introduced to Rosario as "amico nostra" by Angelo Bruno in the 1970s and didn't know Rosario belonged to Sicily until Gotti told him.
Not aware of anything else involving Gotti and Rosario.

I didn't mean he flipped I'm saying he gave up info somehow that helped them into Cerelli aptBrowniety86 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 6:44 pmNorman DuPont flipped? How they can deduce the specific apartment, which would be a huge invasion of privacy into an old woman’s apt, is hard to imagine without a CI with direct info. It’s a 5/6 story building with probably more than a dozen apartments.

Did Gotti have any connections to the Patriarca crime family possibly through the Ouimette faction?
Re: Gotti coronation Dec/Jan '86
john knew raymond
Re: Gotti coronation Dec/Jan '86
Gotti also met with Jr Russo regarding the feud with Patriarca Jr. I wish Gravano would get into some of these stories which are not as well covered elsewhere

Gravano gets sidetracked so much I'm wondering, how did Louie Milito betray the Gotti faction during the planning of the Castellano hit? Was it he told Joe Bilotti of the plan while in prison?

Here is an interesting article about Gotti's connection to Providence and Boston mobsters below.

This may have been covered elsewhere, but have been watching some of Sammy's newest videos from the beginning of the year (production value has been quite good), but has he ever told this story about his sit down with Paul and Neil over throwing Louie Dibono around before? It's been a long time since i've read underboss, but I dont remember him ever getting into that.
