This murder had an odd link to Vincenzo LoCicero a year before he died, which was on Dec 5, 1923. I can't ascertain if it was due to natural causes or murder, but given that this was right in the middle of the 2nd Mafia War, who knows.

A Felix LoCicero (512 E 80th) and Charles Trentacoste (359 W 76th) witnessed Domenico "Mike" Arcuri's naturalization.
Arcuri Dom naturalization.jpg
There were (at least) two Felix LoCiceros, one on 2nd Ave near E39 born in 1892 and another born on 1897 who are cousins, the latter fits the address better. This Felix Salvatore LoCicero was born 1897/5/15 in NYC to our Vincenzo Lo Ciciero and married a Giovannina Majuri di Leoluca Majuri (Maiori)
005264751_01546.jpg
Charles Trentacoste was born 1889/11/20 and listed "Palamo" as his birth place, which is likely Palermo. The addresses don't match fully but both were Barbers, this one worked for "Mike the Barber."

I'm not one to jump to conclusions but this makes me wonder if there's a lineage crew-wise between the LoCiceros and the Arcuris with the Francos sprinkled in there.

Gentile:
Umberto Valente had in fact, began his career as a faithful Picciotto of Totò D’Aquila,
one of his first actions were to conduct a contract against Fortunato Lo Monte, when in 1918 he
had the absolute prodomince in the quarter around 106 Street, in New York. Totò D’Aquila
naturally didn’t see this predominance as being good so then had Lo Monte eliminated using
Valente.
He received the permission to enter the quarter, for the vending of Olive Oil, with
Accurso Di Mino, who came from Elizabeth Streets. They had to effectively enter the domicile
without being seen as a threat. It was a good period for Umberto Valente be penetrated the
fortress of Lo Monte without suspicion.
Fortunato Lo Monte used to visit a barbershop daily, one day, during the turn of his
visits, when Lo Monte was in the store, Di Mino entered the store as a deliverer, while Valente
acted as an indifferent customer, but he always kept his eye on Di Mino.
When Lo Monte was ready to exist, Di Mino made a signal with his foot (it would have
been too obvious if the sign was made with his hand). Then Valente - who didn’t want to hurt
anyone else than the target - The unsuspecting Lo Monte exited the door, and then he was hit
with a Colt 38, repeatedly in the head.
In short time after the elimination of Fortunato Lo Monte, Geatano and Totò D’Aquila
now controlled the quarter."

Looked up Accursio DiMino, b 1885/5/15 in Sciacca, who arrived in 1900 and appeared to keep it to 91 Elizabeth St. In 1920 he had his family as well as a boarder with him, one Salvatore Sclafani who was born around 1902. DiMino's wife was Giuseppina Sclafani so Salvatore is likely a relative.
005262950_03383.jpg
In 1921, he traveled to Sicily with a few names, one was an Accardi of Vita who lived in Newark, so here's an early link of Sciaccatani and Newark.

Gentile: Vincenzo Mangano, meanwhile, explained to me the system and also provided for my
momentary inactivity, saw to it that Joe Pidduzzu Parlapiano, nicknamed the Riuzzu- the little
king, a native of Sciacca, associated me into the business of looking after the House of Dice, a
large gambling den that made great business. It was 1935.
The place of concentration, and the clearing houses of the gamblers, was found on 90
Elizabeth Street where there was a Bar-restaurant. To this place the customers came
accompanied by our Piccioti, attached to the gambling house.

Riuzzu was the
type that someone doesn’t contradict, because otherwise the unfortunate person invited his hated.
Also, his position as Capo of a Decina had produced him in so much haughtiness, that he
considered himself greater than a king. And I do not exaggerate in describing him in this way
because I have actually head him classify himself as such with my own ears, and precisely when
he was talking with the bartender of his café, his good friend and fellow compaesano:
“Good friend Accurso, I want you to have this well established in your head that first
comes God and then your good friend Don Pidduzzu.
The good man would reply:
“Yes Sir, my good friend.”
The Capo Vincenzo Mangano had nominated me to be his Sostituto with the authority to
settle any differences there might be among the components of the two Decine, that operated in
New York, since his residence was in Brooklyn. In fact, one Decina was ran by Joe Pidduzzu
while the other by Geatano Tropia., a native of Agrigento, a resident on 39th Street on the East
Side. Practically all the components of the two Decine were from the province of Agrigento, so
Mangano considered them my paesani.
I tried to do my best with the power entrusted to me, not omitting to keep the Capo
informed from time to time about the deportment of the Decine. I spoke to him about the
Parlapiano-Marciano case, and Mangano said to me:
“They are the types that fight often, but in the end they are always united, therefore
conduct yourself with them as you best believe to be opportune, because I have many problems
to fix and as a consequence, don’t have time to lose.”

Can't find a Luigi Marciano but there was a Marciante who died Oct 14, 1933. This could be the Don Luigi whom Gentile spoke up in the Sciaccatani faction in NY in the 30's. If this is the guy, he arrived in 1890 and the manifest just lists Italy.
005262952_02498.jpg
Parlapiano
31301_167857-00145.jpg
There was a Gaetano Tropia lived at 245 E39th St, born in 1886. His father was Joseph Trupia, mother Gerlanda DiMaria and his wife was Giulia (Julia) Biccotta/Cicotty.
005263064_01553.jpg

So maybe these crew lineages went
1) LoCiceros-Tropia ... Arcuri? The Arcuris and LoCiceros are definitely linked and Tropia came from an area identified with that faction (E39th)
2) DiMino-Parlapiano ... Corrao? DiMino's wife's surname was a Sclafani and Joe Butch, also Sciaccatan, had a crew member Big Gus Sclafani and both DiMino and Corrao were active in lower Manhattan half a century apart.

Letter received by the Secret Service in 1910 and written in Italian:

New York, N.Y. May 27, 1910
Captain Flynn - The arrest of Lupo and Company has been the fortune of all the honest workingmen, because they not only dedicated themselves to counterfeit notes but also "Camorra" and black hand. The present is to let you know that the association Lupo has not yet terminated, but unfortunately for we good Italians it exists yet and are dedicating themselves in putting out counterfeit notes of $5.00 and $2.00 denomination and sending threatening letters for big [men?] to the Italians who reside in the Italian quarter.

A branch of these dogs with out conscience is found at 13th Street composed of Msmrs Catalano (noted by the police), Saverio Virzi, who has a grocery store at 432 [last digit is smudged so could be a different number] E. 13th Street, and is a partner of the beer saloon at 436 E. 13th Street with a certain Don Basile - another master work of brigands. There is also a Don Foti who has a crooked eye and others. The principal seat of reunion is in the saloon and in the grocery store....

Virzi, Saverio is the papa of all - is a godfather of Pietro Inzerillo, who a month ago went to Italy and before going, he burned a box of the farm notes in his own bakery oven, at 226 Elizabeth Street. Virzi is an intimate of Ignazio Lupo and is the head of those of the black hand who send letters to 11th, 12th, and 13th Streets.....

[Signed]
An Honest Italian, enemy absolute of the Black Hand

Parlapiano´s successor as crew leader was most likely Antonino Indelicato (b 1890) who stepped down (demoted?) in the 1950s. Then Joseph Franco (b 1910) was the leader of that crew. After Franco´s death in November 1957, Carmine Lombardozzi became the caporegime. In this crew were the Corraos.

Was this Joe Franco connected to the Arcuris? They were in-laws of the Francos but not sure it's the same set.

Wasn't Indelicato Brooklyn-based?

Really don´t know of any Franco-Arcuri connection.
Indelicato was based in Little Italy, Manhattan. I think his YOB was 1890.

One change I would make would be to Joseph "Staten Island Joe" Riccobono. It seems he would be in the DeCicco crew since he was part of his father's crew. Giovanni (John) Riccobono was the oldest man in prison in New York in the 1930s for killing a cop around 1917. Giovanni Riccobono was related to Saverio Virzi and lived in the same neighborhood around East 13th Street.

And Charlie Brush was Anthony Zangarra. I found two Anthony Zangaras (with one R) in New York, one born in 1904 and the other in 1924. Both were born in New York City.

Anthony John Zangara
Race: White
Age at Death: 75
Birth Date: 1 Aug 1904
Death Date: 30 Oct 1979
Death Place: Osceola, Florida, United States
Father: Giovanni Zangara, born 17 Dec 1866 in Palermo. Wife: Rosa Coleto, born c1870 in Italy
Lived at 236 East 107th Street in 1917
Tony Zangara lived at 2134 Washington Ave, Bronx, in 1942

Anthony Zangara
Social Security Number: 052-18-0274
Birth Date: 16 Jan 1924
Issue Year: Before 1951
Issue State: New York
Last Residence: 11223, Brooklyn, Kings, New York, USA
Death Date: 19 Dec 1999
He lived at 1851 Second Ave., NYC, in 1942
Father: Giuseppe Zangara, born 2 July 1891, in Mineo, Catania, Sicily
Mother: Mary Cassacio, born 2 May 1900 in Mineo.

Zangara was reportedly one of the men who killed Albert Anastasia in 1957.

Looking at what Joe Valachi advised the FBI, he said that Charles Dongarra was "Charlie Brush"
https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.htm ... h=zangarra

So maybe the government reports got it wrong: https://books.google.com/books?id=CLcjA ... ra&f=false

I wonder if Anthony Zangara is related to Joe Zangara? This is what I had but now maybe I'm wrong:
JOSEPH ZINGARO, 51

DOB: 10/18/1912
POB: NEW YORK CITY, NY
FATHER: Giovanni Zingaro
MOTHER: Concetta Yamarone
FACTION: (Campobasso , Molise)
(Declined offer to become Acting Consigliere in the absence of Giuseppe Riccobono from the position.)

Thomas frouge was born in Ohio, his father was Giuseppe (one lists him as silvestro but it's the same guy unless wife Tommasina montebano married two guys with the same last name that's correct spelling was Ferrugia, of Cianciana, Agrigento. Interesting background.
