Yeah you’re right, you would think Allie jr would be so well schooled that he would be extremely sharp and know all the tricks. But like you said.. using a phone line that you gave to your parole as your line... along with him getting caught with a shotgun on his boat in Florida is just so idiotic. Especially the gun charge, which basically snowballed to cause all of this to happen, why on earth did he need a shotgun on his boat down in Florida???? Honestly? So stupid... deross constantly harassing the Cutolo family the second he disappeared was just such a fiend move... it’s like he had 2 pennies in his pocket and needed wild bills money that exact second... crazy he wasn’t looking too hard cause he missed the 1.5 million in the stove vent in the kitchen... pretty cool of the fbi to have knowledge of that 1.5 million that was stashed and were human enough to look the other way and allow Cutolos wife to keep it...

Also, did Wild Bill never give Allie all the accounting of his rackets he had going on? Just wondering cause you would think if he did that deross wouldn’t have been trying so hard to get a hold of books of Shylock customers, ect... god deross was honestly such a snake piece of shit... comes home to see his good friend (was best man at his wedding) doing well on the street, a monster earner.. and instead of being happy for the guy and maybe trying to get some business ventures set up with him, instead he gets behind Allie to kill him thinking it’s easier to just take what he has... which never even ended up happening.... dumb brokester....
Allie jr. I think cams to terms at a young age that he was going to be doing life one day, so seems like he didn’t really give a fuck... he still must be calling the shots, I don’t know if he’s still married. But his wife, or ex wife has a gorgeous house down in Florida.. I’m sure paid for with all money from Allie jr....
Where did the 1.5 million in the stove vent story come from? Never heard about that one. Cutolo Jr is doing a bunch of podcasts these days as well , he says he was a member of the Colombos Lol. (They say it thoughout the podcast ) .
Is Andrew Russo still Acting boss? I wonder how how much is Accurate with their borgata these days , #captains , leaderships roles , making ceremonies .....
Wild Bill was sharp. He had his wife basically planned for the time he got killed and had all his real up to date Shylock books and ledgers and everything hidden and had an older set that they gave deross when he came asking for everything

DeRoss going to Cutolos house right after the hit to search for his records was really damn stupid. That was the main thing that sunk him at trial.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Fuck DeRoss - he was a scumbag. Vic Orena would have been a great boss over anyone from the Columbos. Is the son still banging his attorney?
I miss Wild Bill - he was a gentleman but naive to trust Persico.

Interesting story about the Cutolo hit.

When bagging up Cutolo's body in Dino Saracino's basement, Joe Competiello and Saracino found tens of thousands of dollars on Cutolo's body. The pair reported this to Tommy Gioeli and Dino Calabro, who were waiting outside keeping lookout. Gioeli told the pair to split the cash between themselves. Consider it a nice little bonus for a job well done.
The day after, Gioeli and Dino Calabro drove out to Hempstead, L.I., to confirm the hit to Allie Persico. They met at a Nissan dealership owned by the brother of John Staluppi. Persico asked who pulled the trigger; Calabro confirmed it was him. Persico asked who was at the scene, and Calabro named Competiello and Saracino. Then, Persico asked if Cutolo drove himself there. Calabro said no, Cutolo had been driven there by an unknown individual. The whereabouts of his Ford Expedition were unknown. That's when Persico told them that he had asked Cutolo to bring $70,000 with him to the meeting - he did not elaborate why. Persico assumed the cash was in Cutolo's Ford Expedition: Gioeli and Calabro didn't bother to correct him.
Then we've got John DeRoss, who - the very same day - was at Cutolo's house, trying to find his own little slice of Cutolo's fortune. Such scumbags. You also had Joe Campanella at the funeral, bawling his eyes out, even though he had been on the outs with Cutolo for the previous year-or-two, since he owed Cutolo hundreds of thousands of dollars, hadn't been even keeping up with the vig, and then went and bought himself a new Mercedes in '98 or so. I'm sure those were tears of relief from Campanella, having gotten off the hook for six-figure sum.

Such a classic tale of treachery, so stereotypically "Colombo." Well, it would be unfair to call it stereotypically Colombo. I guess all the families are equally as treacherous. Just to add to the treachery, Allie wanted Gioeli to initially commit the Cutolo hit with Vinny DeMartino. Gioeli was convinced that the murder of Cutolo would actually be a set-up for Gioeli's own murder, as punishment for his role in the Ralph Dols hit.

he was very much involved in the planning of the murder, theres court transcripts that describe the below in greater detail, he left out that when he put his head down he started crying...

"Soon, he was without Cutolo permanently. Called one night to a sit-down at a restaurant, Wild Bill’s right-hand man Jackie DeRoss took him aside before heading in. “He asks me what do I think about killing Billy,” Campanella says. “I was shocked. You know, I was like, ‘Where the fuck did this come from?’ So I just put my head down and shook my head.” DeRoss told him that Allie Boy Persico, who was heading to prison on a gun conviction, was afraid that Cutolo, who was making millions and was well-liked by the other families, would become so powerful in Allie Boy’s absence that it would be impossible to get power back. They knew that Campanella and Cutolo had had a falling-out but that Campy nevertheless would be the perfect guy to set Wild Bill up. But seeing Campanella’s reaction, DeRoss told him to forget about it. Campanella, being a good soldier, he says, never tipped off Cutolo.

A short time later, on May 26, 1999, Cutolo disappeared—never to be heard from again."

Frankie blue eyes Sparaco from the Perscio Faction gave information that the Cutolo hit was ordered by Allie Boy Persico according to this article.

I don't think that's in dispute.

Haven't read the article but Sparaco was in prison at the time, and would not have been privy to that kind of knowledge. He was indeed close to Allie Boy was when he was on the street, but he was imprisoned in '93 and I haven't seen anything indicating that the pair were prison pen pals. And if they were, I don't think one of Allie's letters to him would've been "Hey I'm taking out that Wild Bill guy."

Not poo-pooing on you, thank you for the article. I'm poo-pooing on Frankie Sparaco, ditched by the government for being a lying informant.

EDIT: Just read the Cutolo bit in the article. It just says he gave the government information that led to the conviction of Persico for Cutolo's murder. That's not true. Persico was tried twice for Cutolo's murder, and Sparaco didn't testify in either.
