That reminds of a particular Gotti fanboy who said that "Joh was so tough he will beat the cancer". This was after it was announced he was in the final stage and had pretty much slipped into a coma. He died like 2 weeks later.

The best was QueensKid, when he said that if Gotti hadn’t been locked up he would have prevented 9/11.

At that time everyone, public opinion, was on Gotti's side. If you were online back then all the message boards were pro-Gotti and anti-Gravano in the most fan-boyish way possible. Oh the Gotti-craze back then, the veterans here like Antiliar and Pogo probably remember it.
Yeah I was around. The Massino fanboys were worse though.
To be fair there were a lot of "Gott ruined the life" laments on the boards even back then.
That came later in the mid-2000's. In 2001 everyone was all "Sammy the bitch Gravano." Say what you will about him, he's no one I'd ever want to have a problem with. In fact most "rats" were, in the life, dangerous people.
Massino was "the Lost Don" until he flipped, lol. I remember T. Catalano on the board, lol.
Back in the early 2000s there were many fanboy types on the forums who really believed that Massino was so smart and so old school that the Feds would never get him. When it came out that he chaired that Commission style meeting some thought he was going to rebuild the NY mob.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Im guessing he knew the guy and was in buisness during his gambino days. Then when he ratted he didnt rat on this guy either because he liked him or because he knew somewhere down the line after he got out of jail he wanted to get into the drug buisness and this guy could supply him.So the supplier trusted sammy

I'm glad he's doing a show. Even if it ends up basically being an audiobook of Underboss, it's cool to have it in his own voice. Gravano will always have his own spin, but his stories have been consistent over the years and I'm curious to see where he goes with it.
Anyone know who "Aldo" is? He said he was an 18th avenue "zip" circa early 1970s when Gravano was a Colombo associate. He said some of these "zips" he had a problem with were made members in Sicily but I'm not sure if Aldo was implied to be a member.
aldo candido is mentioned in some murder beef not sure if it’s the guy your referring to though
