Owned through family by PJ RibasteTallGuy19 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 5:52 pmAren't Temptations KC and The Cigar Box supposedly owned by someone who is connected to the Civellas?Moscone65 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 5:05 pm Columbus park still has quite a few Italians there. Some Italian businesses there include: the north end (used to be lasala’s) italian restaurant, garozzos, moretina’s caddy shack (pizza place run by joe moretina, and vocci’s pasta ship, just to name a few things. In terms of mob hangouts, the sciortinos, delunas, Nathan brancato, Paul Silvio, and John termini all hang out at jaspers. Jimmy moretina supposedly took over the old Simone crew, and his guy hang out at gilhooleys. The civellas, ribastes and cammisanos hang out at Anthony’s restaurant. My guess is that they have 3 crews and supposedly some connections in Las Vegas through some of the ribastes and others. That’s all the information I could get as of now. Some of their younger guys include a lot of the guys that were close to the old DiCapo guys as well as people charged in the 2010 bust such as Mike B. I don’t want to say his name because he checks these things, but if you know who I’m talking about then kudos.

When the family lost local 41, with the removal of Jimmy Mortina and Nick Diggliarmo when the FBI proved their mob connections and the union were required to boot them, in the early 90s they were never able to get back in.CabriniGreen wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 9:37 pm Something they portrayed in that show Ozark, how much did Right to Work weaken the KC family? The Teamsters specifically?
Just a few things I was wondering about, since KC is at the forefront for the moment.....
Carry on....

You mean Joe Pete Simone, he did and his bust cost him a promising baseball career.

That 2010 case, why was there so many people arrested and jailed for contempt of court? No info to give the govt proved valuable? There is a presence but very small these days, no real structure, there are some titles but most ceremonial. There are some young guns working with a few made guys, doing things and making a little money, but its not a real family structure. They have some capable young guys will do dirty work, mostly Sal Begulia. Other than that nothing really

While not the family they were, there are a few guys who would bury you, Willie Cammisano Jr. is a dangerous man, just his involvement would be enough to stop people from talking. At that time Joe Ragusa "Rags" was still alive and moving around, he was a very dangerous guy. In fact it wasn't until Willie put the world out okaying people to talk to the feds to get out of jail did anyone talk. But there is no family in the historical sense, rather some made guys with some underlings making a few bucks.

those are the active families everyone agrees on, if you're looking to argue with people start a thread on Detroit or Buffalo.
Buffalo and Detroit have always attracted debates because, with Pittsburgh, they did last longer into the 1990's than a lot of other families. The debates we are seeing with Buffalo now we saw with Detroit a decade ago before those died out.
After those two, Kansas City would be the next most debated, due in no small part to the 2010 bookmaking bust, as well as some posters putting up names.
Exactly. Well said.NothingNew44 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 5:14 pmExactly, well said C. There’s a definite distinction. We can look at Bobby and Rusty I. of Pittsburgh getting busted 18 months ago for a gambling operation. They’re remnants still working in traditional criminal activity. Nothing more. People struggle to understand the difference. Or just choose to acknowledge there is one.Confederate wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 4:07 pmAn indictment doesn't automatically constitute an "Active Family". There can be an indictment against a "leftover remnant" from a defunct family.
We have 8 major cities with high LCN activity, but they're just the tip of the iceberg. We're facing the Yakuza, Chinese Tongs, Rastafarian crackheads, and biker mobs, dealing methamphetamine ice.
