The thing about him is, he's not a rapper at all. At least not a "gangsta rapper." His name is Donald Glover and he is an actor who started out on the NBC sit-com Community. He also played the young Lando Calrissian in the movie Solo. No idea why he chose the music name he did.
From what I recall the name "Childish Gambino" was generated by one of those corny old Facebook quiz apps, the one in question being "What is Your Wu-Tang Name". And he decided to use it as his rap name because it was funny.

It's sort of like New Orleans or some of those other small families, the boss goes away for a long stretch and the family falls apart, like there was no real structure in place.
You would think that a family that was able to pull off the Vegas skim would have lasted longer, had more on the ball, so to speak.
Maybe some of the older guys that were left saw Nick Civella die in prison and just let the family die out so they didn't risk suffering the same fate.
not so quickly anyway, it lasted about 80 years
Yeah I get that, but when the old-timers were gone there wasn't a younger generation waiting in the wings to take over. I think they were content to just let it die.

I know I'm being a little off topic, but two interesting documentaries about KC's family, a little "unknown", are Blackhand Strawman and Gangland Wire, it seems they even got to be shown in theaters.

I watched a pretty good documentary about KC today on Amazon Prime called Gangland Wire. It was about the River Quay war and the wiretaps from that investigation that lead to the discovery of the Vegas skim. It was good, had a lot of wiretap conversations.

What a coincidence

Soon I want to see if I can watch both, Blackhand Strawman seems to only have it on DVD.

Theres TONS AND TONS of rappers who use mafia terms....

Irv gotti and Murder inc.
The godfather
La coka nostra
Master p da last don

And many many others.

I'm strictly talking about this weird DETROIT connection that has come up within the last year.

This last year, DAMEDOT, created MAFIA TIES (a cd) and since then.... local Detroit Detroit rappers are actually name dropping who they know.

Wg- I'll find u the lyrics.

But in the last it says "served time with giacalone the god"

Icewear vezzo says, I got mafia ties. With the giacalones!!!

Its very weird bc it's like all these Detroit rappers are actually name dropping REAL ppl here....

I feel like theres a reason why its happening now rather then all these other years where they never said shit about tocco
HANG IT UP NICKY. ITS TIME TO GO HOME.

Columbus park still has quite a few Italians there. Some Italian businesses there include: the north end (used to be lasala’s) italian restaurant, garozzos, moretina’s caddy shack (pizza place run by joe moretina, and vocci’s pasta ship, just to name a few things. In terms of mob hangouts, the sciortinos, delunas, Nathan brancato, Paul Silvio, and John termini all hang out at jaspers. Jimmy moretina supposedly took over the old Simone crew, and his guy hang out at gilhooleys. The civellas, ribastes and cammisanos hang out at Anthony’s restaurant. My guess is that they have 3 crews and supposedly some connections in Las Vegas through some of the ribastes and others. That’s all the information I could get as of now. Some of their younger guys include a lot of the guys that were close to the old DiCapo guys as well as people charged in the 2010 bust such as Mike B. I don’t want to say his name because he checks these things, but if you know who I’m talking about then kudos.

They didn't even have 3 Crews in the late 1980s.

Aren't Temptations KC and The Cigar Box supposedly owned by someone who is connected to the Civellas?

What about the strip club and the cigar place with the lounge singers that are right next to each other? Forget the name but there is no liquor in the strip club so people go back and forth between the two

this happens because lcn is selective and only Italians can be members, it thrives only in favorable environments
