Chucky and the drug business was the surest way for Michael to continue his gigantic flow of cash uninterrupted.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 12:08 pmThat’s crazy he was not full blooded Italian and he basically was made and went straight to the underboss position.JCB1977 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 11:36 am 10-14-2016 Charles "Chucky" Porter

Once the mills shut down Pittsburgh and Youngstown were no longer the cash cows they once were. Michael was always about the money.

Money...hungry yes - greedy...not from what I heard from maybe his closest associate at that time.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 4:44 pmGenovese seems like another greedy boss that destroyed his family.FriendofHenry wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 12:45 pmChucky and the drug business was the surest way for Michael to continue his gigantic flow of cash uninterrupted.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 12:08 pmThat’s crazy he was not full blooded Italian and he basically was made and went straight to the underboss position.JCB1977 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 11:36 am 10-14-2016 Charles "Chucky" Porter

I wouldn't say that Michael "destroyed" his family as there wasn't much family business left to support a whole family.
Additionally if he was allowed to recruit new members who was he going to recruit?
Michael approached a young man in person and felt him out about being part of his Pittsburgh family.
This conversation took place in front of Charlie Murgie and Henry. Both Charlie and Henry objected and said this is no life for him.
