Plus, Gangi's dad, Frank Gangi Sr., was an associate of the Genovese family who was murdered by Charles Gagliodotto, I'd be interested to hear more about his dad and the guys he was around.

As long as hes not blowing lines you might get some info out of him. I always thought it was odd that a methodical cautious guy like Pitera would be close to a guy like gangi.
I remember that Gangi around the weeks prior to him getting pulled over for drunk driving, he was scared & avoiding Pitera because Pitera warned him that he was tired of Gangi’s drug abuse. So he started avoiding him, then he got pulled over and started snitching because he knew that if Pitera caught wind of him getting pulled over because of drunk driving & Cocaine was also found in his system when he got checked he was going to kill him. Pitera saw drug abusers as weak people & couldn’t hold pressure.

Yeah Gangis story that he flipped due to setting up that girl for pitera to kill is bullshit. Gangi flipped because of what you just said....pitera was going to cut him up and dump him.

It had to be stressful being around someone like Pitera everyday, knowing that at any time he could decide to torture you to death for no reason.

Gangi ratted cause he was afraid of going down and was a junkie psycho,
He told them he was a serial killer and wanted to confess his sins, tell authorities where the bodies were buried, cooperate and start a new life for himself. "The feds have already approached me. Now I'm ready," Gangi said.

Gangi made good on his promise. He served up Bonanno mobster Thomas (Tommy Karate) Pitera for a litany of brutal murders that landed Pitera in federal prison for life and earned Gangi a new lease on his.
He had talked to the feds and was going nuts, not cause of Pitera. Pitera's advice to quit using drugs and getting too drunk was good advice, Gangi turned it into a sign of something else.

But Pitera was a psycho too, a true serial killer, it's not like he was any different from Gangi in that aspect. Just because he didn't become an informant, unlike Gangi, doesn't mean he was any better.

I don't think Pitera was the seriel killer he was portrayed to be. Look at who testified against him. He got totally screwed when trying to give his side in the book by Phil Carlo who turned it into more of a seriel killer story after telling Pitera he would tell his side. He is not a rat, he is not a rat, Gangi. Gangi had a lot to gain by laying everything on Pitera.

I don’t think Pitera is a serial killer at all, he killed because he had to do it, especially in the late 80s, early 90s when law enforcement was beating the crap out of the mob, because of snitches, etc. Problem was the method he used, and a few actions he took like saving jewelry from the people he killed that is freaky.

Saving momentos from your victims is classic serial killer behavior. If he were just killing people out of necessity it wouldn't make any sense to keep that evidence laying around. Apparently, when serial killers look at the objects they have taken from their victims it makes them relive the the experience and creates a sensation known as euphoric recall. As far as I know there are no other examples of mob guys doing this, and it certainly wasn't standard operating procedure. Even Roy DeMeo wasn't twisted enough to do that—and that's saying something!

at the Orena trial that Orena's primary motive to kill Ocera was to please Gotti by retaliating for Ocera's murder of Greg Reiter.
In Stancell, the evidence established that Gambino associate Mark Reiter hired fellow inmates, Stancell and another, to murder a third inmate, William Bright, who Reiter believed responsible for murdering his son, Greg. Bright was murdered on May 24, 1994.

Mobster #1: He knows karate.
Mobster #2: I don't give a fuck who he knows.

Michael Cassesse would love after go on to be made in the Bonannos.

I have heard that claim multiple times from multiple sources. I assume that if the police had found these mementos during their investigation they would have been introduced as evidence at his trial. When I have time I will go through Pitera's court documents to see if I can find any mention of them.
