Didn't even know he was involved in a cocaine ring drug conspiracy? This kid was supposed to be on his way to becoming a lawyer, Guess the lawyer gig is dead now ? And a kid in his 20's having a home in exclusive Malba being Federici's son WTF is wrong with these idiots ? Home in Malba and probably spoiled to no end , I know the federicis are politically connected to a nice degree locally and who knows how far up that goes ?Flushing wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 10:39 pmNo reason to get upset. Federici's son was busted and lives there, but was he doing it with the mob, or was he trying on his own to be a gangster? Either way, I hope he smartened up. I know that there is very little mob stuff there especially considering the size and population of the areas. Plus there is no street that is all mob, like a mobbed up area would have. It's a few guys scattered over a large area, and some of the names from those arrests who are called associates I wonder if the Mafia even knows who the hell they are.
I posted about Federici's son and his cocaine conspiracy arrest in 2008. I left a link, as I often do, but here it is again: https://qns.com/story/2008/02/14/parksi ... -drug-rap/
Based on empirical evidence, it's obviously a mob area. But compared to Pleasant Ave, it isn't. But if that's the bar your setting, nothing is. I'm surprised you didnt lay out the ground rules for "mob neighborhood" earlier in the thread.
I try to not be that guy who speaks subjectively in a condescending tone in lieu of empirical data. Or atleast properly establishing what a mob neighborhood actually is. So I left out the Gambino capo's grandkid who got whacked on meth and shot his friend 4 times in Whitestone, after having shot someone else at the Flushing motel. I didn't think it was appropriate, but I'll plop it down right here: https://qns.com/story/2014/09/10/former ... lba-jetty/
I also left out the movie "Cruise" with Emily Radjakowski, based on the Italian Americans in Bayside and their drag racing events on Francis Lewis Boulevard during 1980's.

I'd hear them complaining and talking about horse racing and betting etc and the daily lottery, It was like a geriatric gambling den lmaoNJShore4Life wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 6:20 am Fort Lee?!?!- ur kidding me right- its 100% Korean most of the store signs are even in Korean. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Down Neck- Is now all Brazilian, Portugese, and Spanish Yes, you do have old Down Neck guys who live out in the burbs now like East Hanover/Florham Park/Caldwell etc coming in to do business. No Italians live in the Ironbound anymore though, the small Italian population still left in Newark is in the North Ward by the Belleville border (Bloomfield Ave).
Elizabeth-DeCavalcante guys and its all concentrated in the Peterstown section.
Linden- There's a few guys there, DeCav guys. Linden has a lot of Polish people, huge Polish population.

Yeah Nutley has a lot of mob guys and wannabes. When I lived up that way 10-12 years ago I used to hang out at Franklin Steakhouse there were tons of guys there and I think Silvio DeVita owns/owned a the place across the street or had an interest in it.Bklyn21 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 11:31 amBelleville yes, And Nutley has alot going on, My brother lived there a few years just moved somewhere close by forget where, But everytime I went to Nutley there were literally guys everywhere, bunches of guys in the restaurants, Cafes, Bars, Even dunking donuts had a huge amount of older Italians like it was they're personal place lol.. Bayonne has a lot of gambling and drug action too
My bookie is Bayonne based
Some of these guys must have made a ton of $ off Hudson county real estate boom , especially JC. Probably 15-20 sky scrapers going up as we speak.
In early 2000s Bayonne and JC had huge ecstasy pill rings , god knows what they are up to today but I know several big bookies that way still at it all day every day. I never ask questions but generally speaking West side has Hudson County while Lukes have Essex and the other counties are more open

Kearny also has garbage operations. The guys touched by the law back in day stepped back with in laws/ etc. running the show. I’m sure it’s way more legit than years ago who & knows how much $ they actually make but they are certainly on record and giving something.

My bookie still swears the legalization of Sports Betting in New Jersey hasn’t hurt his business!
Re: THE MOST MOBBED-UP NEIGHBORHOODS?
Just going to bring more legit gamblers into the casinos, doubt it will take many established players from the books. Who wants to pay tax and deposit their money up front if you don't have to?

Yeah true but I just feel like the sports betting apps are gonna hurt mob bookies in the end. I know with the sports betting apps you still have to front the money but it’s still so easy to just push buttons to transfer funds if you’re not a Brokester hump....
I don’t know , time will tell it’s still only a year and a half in so we will see.

Re: THE MOST MOBBED-UP NEIGHBORHOODS?
Yes, the apps have the convenience factor similar to logging into an illegal offshore website but not the anonymity as far as taxes on the winnings. Furthermore, while some bettors may be able to keep themselves in check, others (who aren't brokesters, per se, but don't have the same self-control) may still find themselves short of cash and need to get on credit.NJShore4Life wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 8:29 am Yeah true but I just feel like the sports betting apps are gonna hurt mob bookies in the end. In England some bookies are closing because of online betting. I do about 90 percent of my betting online, step into any of the shops in Nottingham town center and all you see is hardcore degenerate gamblers though, i dont think it will ever be exclusively online though, its a massive part of our culture
