THE MOST MOBBED-UP NEIGHBORHOODS?

You guys are mixing Italians moving to the suburbs or a suburban like area to it meaning it's now a mafia neighborhood. Federici's son was busted and lives there, but was he doing it with the mob, or was he trying on his own to be a gangster? Either way, I hope he smartened up. I know that there is very little mob stuff there especially considering the size and population of the areas. Plus there is no street that is all mob, like a mobbed up area would have. It's a few guys scattered over a large area, and some of the names from those arrests who are called associates I wonder if the Mafia even knows who the hell they are.

No reason to get upset. People will see what's been posted and make up their own minds. You'll always have your memories of Bath Beach, or wherever the hell your from.

Based on empirical evidence, it's obviously a mob area. But compared to Pleasant Ave, it isn't. But if that's the bar your setting, nothing is. I'm surprised you didnt lay out the ground rules for "mob neighborhood" earlier in the thread.

I try to not be that guy who speaks subjectively in a condescending tone in lieu of empirical data. Or atleast properly establishing what a mob neighborhood actually is. Down Neck- Is now all Brazilian, Portugese, and Spanish Yes, you do have old Down Neck guys who live out in the burbs now like East Hanover/Florham Park/Caldwell etc coming in to do business. No Italians live in the Ironbound anymore though, the small Italian population still left in Newark is in the North Ward by the Belleville border (Bloomfield Ave).

Belleville yes, And Nutley has alot going on, My brother lived there a few years just moved somewhere close by forget where, But everytime I went to Nutley there were literally guys everywhere, bunches of guys in the restaurants, Cafes, Bars, Even dunking donuts had a huge amount of older Italians like it was they're personal place lol.. I'd hear them complaining and talking about horse racing and betting etc and the daily lottery, It was like a geriatric gambling den lmao

Yeah Nutley has a lot of mob guys and wannabes. When I lived up that way 10-12 years ago I used to hang out at Franklin Steakhouse there were tons of guys there and I think Silvio DeVita owns/owned a the place across the street or had an interest in it.

Some of these guys must have made a ton of $ off Hudson county real estate boom , especially JC. Probably 15-20 sky scrapers going up as we speak.

In early 2000s Bayonne and JC had huge ecstasy pill rings , god knows what they are up to today but I know several big bookies that way still at it all day every day. I never ask questions but generally speaking West side has Hudson County while Lukes have Essex and the other counties are more open

Yes, the apps have the convenience factor similar to logging into an illegal offshore website but not the anonymity as far as taxes on the winnings. Furthermore, while some bettors may be able to keep themselves in check, others (who aren't brokesters, per se, but don't have the same self-control) may still find themselves short of cash and need to get on credit.

In England some bookies are closing because of online betting. I do about 90 percent of my betting online, step into any of the shops in Nottingham town center and all you see is hardcore degenerate gamblers though, i dont think it will ever be exclusively online though, its a massive part of our culture
