The Basciano boys right?
Not sure, I got that info from the 2018 indictment and I don’t think it listed any others, but it definitely could be. Is Armetta close to them?
The Basciano Bros. scheme was years earlier. Armetta is a Staten Island guy and the Bascianos are Bronx guys.

Was Armetta’s marijuana trafficking scheme the one that he sat down with the Colombos about?
I don't know dick about dick.

Not sure if it's true but I hear that out west there is a surplus of weed. So much that they don't need to grow any for a couple of years.
Not sure if this is true I live in the midwest and we are still having avaliability issues certain times of year. In an illegal state surrounded by medical And maybe 1 recreational state.
Thanks mason, maybe it has to do with only being able to sell to legal outlets. I really don't know. I do believe that the people that used to grow illegally and are now trying to go legit are getting crushed financially by big legal grow operations.
Legalization seems to be profiting the government and big business.
Kind of like legalizing sports betting etc.

That's what the 2016 multi-family bust, with Gambino captain Michael Paradiso as lead defendant, involved, i.e over a 21 month period they transported $15 million worth of marijuana from legal grow houses in California to New York for distribution.
All roads lead to New York.

Grouchy Sinatra wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2019 7:56 pm Weed was only criminalized in the first place because the DuPont company, which invested in nylon (to manufacture rope), was threatened by people being able to grow plants in their own back yard that would produce material as strong and durable as nylon. Part of their PR campaign was associating hemp with Mexicans and many indigenous groups who were using the flowers to smoke for pain and stress relief. DuPont, and the politicians, cops, newspapers and radio stations in their pocket, invented the concept of smoking weed to "party" and be crazy. Anyone who's ever used it knows this isn't a side effect. Even Bert will tell you it's not fun man. It's strong. Use it wisely and it can have positive medicinal qualities, mental and physical. Abuse it and you may become paranoid. Or fall asleep.
Another major incident that led to the criminalization of marijuana was the October 1933 axe murders of a family in Ybor City, Tampa, by their son Victor Licata. The sheriff noted that he was "addicted to marijuana" and that ended up being picked up by the media and eventually Henry Ansligner who use the murders as a major part of his push to outlaw marijuana in the US. Turns out Licata was mentally ill and never got treatment.

500YearReign wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2019 3:21 pm It is tough to get in as a dispensary or cultivator licensee, even a lowly worker must have a squeaky clean face. If they utilize cutouts properly and put up the big money that is required, think 5-7.5 million and that's on the low end as a cultivator way out in unincorporated territory. With a fuxkall of security. But business is for real a good thing ran the numbers, if you plant 5000 high grade feminized autoflowering seeds, and do it properly including the harvesting process, you will see little plant loss - less than 5% and at the very very least all your strains selected produce more than 1.3lbs on average yield per plant.

Conservatively based on the above numbers a yield could gross an owner easily 6500lbs. Once harvested and pruned to just pure buds, it will be closer to 5525lbs.

These are very high thc , in many cases very popular strains and even cup winners.

As such, 5525lbs translates for a wholesale cultivator selling to a dispensary, the sale price of roughly, $1000 per lb for a quick, fire-sale price of $5,525,000. Usually all cash deals.

Think of if you shopped it around to the legal jurisdictions your company's licenses allow for and sold it to many dispensaries for a higher price like 1750 which is still a bargain for some truly 4500 a lb weed.

1750 x 5525 = $9,668,750

This is a big big business.
You use Autos? What Autos do you find reliable as far as commercial production? No one uses those, to my knowledge, it's all clones still....

Also, 500, they got a lot Testing cost, special packaging.... they got a LOT of upfront expenses.....

That's the problem out west, they dont have the leverage financially to beat the Black Market.

A lot of these marijuana valuations are faulty to me, because the revenue projections are based on Black Market price points.

Soon as this shits legal, the price goes away down. Your per gram profit margin shrinks. That's why the Vapes and all that bullshit like dabs became so popular, more money. Plus the Vapes is like stepping on weed to increase volume.

There is a slight drought in Chicago right now, some huge grow ops have been busted out west....

These companies will need a guaranteed market to survive. Like in Illinois, only the existing medical dispensaries can get a Rec license. They wont have competition from outsiders, only amongst themselves.

To me it's like someone starting a new cigarette. When's the last time that happened? I see it as a closed industry, the politicians are still trying to figure out how to keep it illegal long enough so they can get in, or cut the best deals. Big money is trying to figure out the best way to get in, and get it ALL.

Like Canada, they got like 5 or 6 producers, and that's pretty much it.

Cabrini, There are some really great autos that flower super fast and produce a good 1lb on average. You have to shop it around.

For me the choice comes down to size/space considerations. I get more plants in a tighter space and through trial and error have found it works for me.

A different setup and size area could utilize the best non-auto feminized seeds and adjust accordingly.

But for the purposes of being a cultivator with a 100,000-200,000 sq ft facility, what is better all feminized seeds, all clones or all autos? I've been debating this back and forth for a while.

Sea of Green or Screen of Green then? I like....Nice...

There has been some serious breeding done in recent years. They could have created some potent Auto hybrids I'm not aware of. I will most definitely take your advice and look into it. I've been trying to break my seed addiction, lol.

Have you looked into Tissue Culture? Very interesting propagation technique.... but a little higher tech.

In a question of Femenised seed vs. Clones vs. Autos? It's tough. Let me ask this, how do you, or rather, CAN you clone an Auto?

It seems after you grow out the seeds, you would need more seeds, if you cant clone the Auto. If you CAN, you would still need to Reveg it, but CAN an auto be cloned, and then Reveg? I'm not at all sure, to be honest. I have a ChemDog Auto, you make me wanna do an experiment now....

I've tried a couple from Sweet Seeds, like Dark Devil, but it wasnt that potent, and wasnt a great yielder, but that was years ago, before I was working with organics and soil biology and my grows got a lot better.

90-120 days from seed to harvest would be pretty damn hard to beat..... You've got me super intrigued....

That might be weed that hasn't been tested and certified by the State, so it can be sold in dispensaries.....there was a ton of that before legalization took hold...
