It's just them passing around stories that they don't care about. To them it's all a joke. Actors, news editors, all knew or heard him say it, plus a detective, but he was never questioned or arrested. That means no one took him being the shooter as a realistic story. An arrest of Gallo's killer would have been a sensation, yet they ignored it?

A court document could mean a transcript. Again, the details of the OJ Simpson trial are in court documents. You wouldn't trust those. A court document doesn't prove anything. It's people talking.

I am not going by court documents. I'll go with every report I have seen, and I am the type very suspect of reports on the mafia. In all the years after it happened, no one disputed the rat who came forward out of fear saying him and Sonny Pinto did it. Common sense comes in to. Pistone has embellished, like when he wore those disguises saying a contract was out on him. If Sheeren did it, and told all these people, who are famous and close to law enforcement, he would have been arrested in a flash.
