Amershire_Ed wrote:I believe Sheeran was at least involved in the Hoffa hit. And as was previously stated, so do Hoffa’s kids. I’m 50-50 on the Gallo hit. A couple people placed him at the scene and it was said that Gallo had disrespected Bufalino earlier in the evening. I don’t think it’s as implausible as some are making it out to be.

But I will say George Anastasia said he spoke with Sheeran towards the end of his life and he came away from the encounter thinking Sheeran had gone completely senile.
If Gallo was so easy to hit by one guy sent by Bufalino, one has to wonder whether the Colombos themselves hadn't gotten to him sooner.

Movies are always that way!..... after all it’s Hollywood and they fit the story to the screen.... 99% of so called “real life event” movie recreations as altered so some degree

I do find it strange that from the sources the author of the article spoke to and from Brandt’s sources, not a single one has a story that’s somewhere in the middle ground. No one has come forward and said “yea Frank clipped a few guys and put some work in, but he was not at the level the book describes.its either, “he made the whole thing up” or “he killed 30 guys.”

Leonetti's book. Sheeran isn't named as the guy in question in the book but other sources have named him as the Irish guy Bruno sent to AC in the late 70s to try to menace Nicky. It was when Bruno's authority started to collapse in the late 70s and Bruno sent Sheeran to AC in a feeble attempt to keep Nicky in line.

Imagine sending that message to the boss when you're just a soldier.

I'm looking forward to the movie but it's only gonna be like 50% real. Sort of like the old Untouchables stuff I guess.

See I’ve never been a fan of American Gangster because they basically took Frank Matthews and Ike Atkinson’s story and morphed it into the Frank Lucas story. Lucas made millions selling heroin in Harlem but literally every other thing in that movie is based off Matthews and Atkinson.

I like my “based on a true story” movies to be as close to the real thing as possible.

Scorsese will say what they always say: " We had expert advisors, and people who were close to him.. " The book it is based on was considered by people who follow OC to be fake on a lot of things.
Why don't you like Scorsese?

I’d be more inclined to believe Sheeran was making it all up if there was proof or evidence that he and Bufalino weren’t that tight. As mentioned in other threads, Bufalino was maybe the most respected boss in the country in the 60s and 70s. I find it hard to believe that Bufalino would respect and trust someone, especially a non Italian, that was “just a second stringer” that “only killed bottles of wine” as Berkery put it.
Plus, more times than not, when you are killed in that life, it happens when people you know and trust walk you in a room...which is why Hoffa’s kids believe it was Sheeran.

Montagna was also about to go the Hoffa way and was lured into a house by Jack Simpson, who wasn't a known killer either.

They should've made a movie about Jack Simpson named "The Unknown Canadian". Harvey Keitel playing Simpson, De Niro as Nick Rizzuto, Joe Pesci as Desjardins, with Scorsese in a supporting role playing Joe Di Maulo. James Gandolfini if he was still alive as Montagna, Don Rickles as Rocco Sollecito and Al Pacino as Vito Rizzuto.
