staten island is 38% italian anyway and it is an entire borough, also some neighborhood like howard beach, dyker heights, trogs neck and others are still heavily italian
I just had Originals last night lol . Nice Originals supreme, I feel like grabbing another pie since you mentioned it

The overall bottom line is that although I think we all agree the demographics have and are changing to the negative, Italians and their population are still a major force in all those areas so named by JCB and others..... east, mid-states and even west coast to a surprising degree! ..... good to see!

I found the same crap ! Nothing really recent that gives any definitive numbers , Then I found something from 10 years ago that I think was saying there were over 3 million Italians in the whole state , And I saw the 50,000 number quote for the 5 boroughs. Confusing ! I said theres no way there's 3 million, Over the last 25-30, Especially the last 15-20 years Italians have been leaving the boroughs and long island in mass numbers . We all know all the Italian neighborhoods are gone . A few neighborhoods that border each other really stand out to me specifically, Canarsie, Flatlands, Mill basin . Up until the mid 90' these 3 were still all Italian, Now , I'm not too far away but , Not even a bit recognizable. All black 100% . But, it's like that somewhat everywhere . Old news lol
Mill Basin is all black 100%??? Really? Bergen Beach too? I live here also so you know you can't say that is true. Granted things are very different but you are stretching with some of those comments. Not even a bit recognizable? I still eat the same bread (moretti) same pizza (originals) same pastries (palermo) go to same pork store (landis) as I have for decades so clearly its not totally unrecognizable.
lol..We're probably neighbors , After you mentioned that, I ran out to Originals ,Morrettis and Aliottas I'm over here with enough bread and pastry , Cookies, Cake to last a month

Yes your right, What I meant was, These neighborhoods, HB, Dyker, Throggs neck were an extension of a much larger area of neighborhoods/Communities that are gone as far as Italian or white , HB was an extension of Ozp, South Ozp, Woodhaven, Richmond hill etc. Dyker had Bensonhurst, Bath beach, Gravesend, Bay ridge etc . Throggs neck the same thing. But now it's basically just stand alone areas like HB and Dyker, Pockets ..All the areas that extended vastly are all gone .

I'm not a big fan of Denino's at all. I'd say joe and pats best slice on SI.

My favorite pizza places are Joe's on Carmine St for NY style slice, Prince Street for the Sicilian style Spicy Spring and Paulies Gees for Neapolitan style.

Spumoni Gardens and Denino’s are two very different kinds of pies, it’s not an apples to apples comparison.

I understand that, I was just saying to Scootch that I liked Spumoni Gardens pies. Personally, I prefer New Haven style as well as a place in Westchester in Mt Vernon called Johnny’s.

It's very good, in fact it was my favorite square until I had Prince Street a few years back. Obviously the Spumoni is unrivaled.

Approximately, What percentage of Staten Island is Italian American? is this where many of the Italians moved in order to get away from many parts of Brooklyn & The Bronx?
